Dear Rajas

The 12th lord shows the nature of expenses and devaguru ruling it shows

expenses on good causes. We all have to spend money and energy, so is it not

good if this is spent on good things. Jupiter grants grand fortune to Aries

and that is why Aries is called the ROYAL sign of the zodiac (Leo is NOT

ROYAL). The royalty for aries comes due to guru/sagittarius in the ninth.

"Sri Ram Jaya Ram Jaya Jaya Ram"...sing this melody and see for yourself.

With best wishes & regards,

I remain

[vedic astrology] planet rulling good & bad houses

simultaneously

Dear Friends,

say for Aries, Jupiter is the lord of 9th & 12th house.so if Jupiter

is strong, whether it will promote fortunes being lord of 9th house

or it will cause losses being lord of 12th house? whether person

having Aries asc. should wear yellow saphhiere to promote its basic

features & significations of 9th house or by wearing it, will be

harmful as it will increase losses as significating features of 12th

house?

looking forward for clarifications/comments.

thanks & regards

Dear Mr. Rath,

Ok I understand ur views about jupiter, but my query was not

specifically for jupiter for Aries. In principle, I'm asking that if

a planet is lord of one good & one bad house, how to interprete its

significations if the same is strong or weak? what if instead of

Jupiter it is say Mercury ?

I hope I'm able to put my query in right manner.

Dear Rajas,

We cannot forget the nature of the planet and only see lordships. We have to

see both. I wil give some examples for clarity:

Take the lordship of kendra by natural benefics. Here the natural beneficial

planets have a tendency to give even without asking because they are GOOD

souls. Now, when they rule kendras, they do not give as much and as easily.

If they are the tenth lord, they expect you to work before they declare you

successful, if they are the fourth lord, they expect you to do some kind

deed before they give you happiness and so on. Here the natural beneficence

of the benefic planet is reduced because of ownership of the kendra and this

is called kendradhipati dosha. It does not mean that the planet beco0mes

malefic, but that it expects you to do something first before it gives you

everything.

Next examine the ownership of the kendra by malefic planets. Now a planet

like Saturn for example, is a terrible task master and will make you kill

yourself before he gives you anything. If saturn ows the tenth house, then

he will give you success with relatively lessor amount of work. But tht does

not mean that saturn has become like Jupiter. He will make you work and will

extract a lot, but this will be relatively less than what he will do if he

is the lord of other houses and is placed or aspects the 10th house or lord.

Thus, relative to their nature, the natural malefic planet has become

beneficial and this is also due to its kendradhipatya.

Now when a planet owns a trine like say 5th or the best 9th house, then he

is a first rate benefic being inclined to protect you and help you. If the

benefic is also the lord of a bad house, then the danger of obstruction to

the flow of good fortune comes in. Say we take Mercury as the lord of 9th

and 12th house for Libra lagna. Here Mercury is a first rate benefic as the

ninth lord and being a natural benefic, it will tend to ignore your flaws

indicated by the 12th house and give you good fortune. Here there is a

'small condition' attached. Mercury will want that you share some of the

great things he gives you with others indicated by Virgo or planets in Virgo

or UL. In this manner the 'other house' ownership of Mercury is the

condition atached to the powers of the benefic to give.

With best wishes & regards,

Yours truly,

Sanjay Rath

12th & 3rd house ? (i.e. the expenditure will be for good cause? also

it's ok when we say that it is for good cause but practically we also

need to see whether the same is within the limits means it should not

happen that expenditure though for good cause exceeds income.

about kendradhipati dosha, my understanding was that if a planet

if i'm wrong. also whether this dosha is for benefic planet only?

what u mentioned for Mercury being lord of 9/12th house, what happens

as u said the basic nature of planet has to be considered, the same

applies for 'papgraha', am i right? so does it mean that if a

papgraha is lord of good house say 5/9th house, still it will give

houses/planets will remain bad eventhough it is a lord of good house?

if such planet is weak, is it advisable to strengthn it by wearing

stone to promote significations of the good house?

whether shani sadesati remains bad for all asc? even in case where

shani is lord of 4&5th House or 10&11th house or 9&10th house or

1&2nd house?

sorry for so many questions at a time. hope to get ur kind

II JAY GURUDEV II

Dear Sanjayji,

Thanks a lot for such detail explnation. I'm clear about effect of

benefic planet being lord of good & bad house. I presume that in such

case strengthing such benefic planet by using its stone will be good

only & will not create any harmful effect as being lord of the bad

house.

Of course. Unless it is the bädhaka, there is no reason to worry at all. In

fact the use of a diamond for Libra or Taurus lagna, Emerald for

Gemini/Virgo and yellow sapphire for Pisces/Sagittarius and pearl for Caner

lagna is always recommended.

As Jupiter is a holy planet, what u mention about the same for Aries,

does it hold good for Capricorn Asc as well where Jup becomes lord of

12th & 3rd house ? (i.e. the expenditure will be for good cause? also

it's ok when we say that it is for good cause but practically we also

need to see whether the same is within the limits means it should not

happen that expenditure though for good cause exceeds income.

Many classical texts say that this placement of Jupiter in debility in lagna

is very good for Capricorn. It ensures a good and learned spouse and the

person although a non-believer in subjects like astrology, shall be of good

temperament and a good person. But health may not be good especially when

mental tension comes. They will always get money to meet their expenses.

about kendradhipati dosha, my understanding was that if a planet

holds 2 kendras then only it is a kendradhipati dosha, pl correct me

if i'm wrong.

The shastras do not mention 2 kendras. Even if planet owns one kendra, the

'kendradhipatya' criteria comes into play.

also whether this dosha is for benefic planet only?

I have already explained.

what u mentioned for Mercury being lord of 9/12th house, what happens

in case of ?Saturn being lord opf 11th & 12th house? whether it gives

good result being lord of 11th house? or its bad effect being lord of

12th house supercedes?

11th is not a good house and just because 'labha' or gains are attributed to

it, it should not be construed as a good house. It is a trika and an

upachaya. So if Saturn owns 11 & 12 it is evil no doubt.

as u said the basic nature of planet has to be considered, the same

applies for 'papgraha', am i right? so does it mean that if a

papgraha is lord of good house say 5/9th house, still it will give

some bad results wrt these houses &/or it's aspect on other

houses/planets will remain bad eventhough it is a lord of good house?

Yes. It will do both. Its station or aspect of one house will indicate the

results that will predominate.

if such planet is weak, is it advisable to strengthn it by wearing

stone to promote significations of the good house?

Yes, if it is the lord of 5 or 9, it is recommended so that it becomes

beneficial and gives more good results.

whether shani sadesati remains bad for all asc? even in case where

shani is lord of 4&5th House or 10&11th house or 9&10th house or

1&2nd house?

No comments now as this is a very big topic

sorry for so many questions at a time. hope to get ur kind

explanation.

thanks & regards

Dear Sanjayji,

Thanks a lot for detail explanation. About shani sadesati, I agree

that it is a big topic, but if it is not possible to answer my

queries in brief, can u suggest any source on the net where i can get

answers to my questions?

from ur explanation, I'm still not able to understand the following?

will be greatful if u reclarify/confirm :

1) what u mentioned about jupiter being lord of 12th house whether

the same applies for capricorn asc. which also have jupiter as 12th

house (i.e. the expenditure will be for good reasons & will not be

bad/harmful)

2) whether pap graha have kendradhipati dosha?

thanks & regards
