Guest guest
Dear Pankaj Sharmaji, I agree with your point but you said an Astrologer has to charge. What is this charge ? It is for a doctor to charging the patient.Jyotish is a holy Divine science and if we get some knowledge of this Jyotish,we have ti use this for the benefit of the mankind and the interpretations and remdeies suggested is of infinite value. So in turn you can accept as a Dakshina and not as a charge. May be many of the members not agree with me.I am giving a simple logic. If you are charging for a specific person who comes to ask your consultation ,then it is like you are selling this invaluable Divine Science for some amount of money which does not stay with you long.So accept as a Dakshina. This is my opinion and people will differ in their ways. In many cases Ispent More than Two days on a jataka to diagnose his problems and suggestremedies to these . but people come to pass their time and they don't do anyremedial measure suggested. NOw I have reached on two conclusions.!. Don't give any astrological advice untill asked for because people don'ttake that advice seriously which is not sought. This way astrology becomes acheap entity. Let us shirk this practice.2.I have felt that if people take your precious time ,they must pay for it.There is no free lunch in this world.Yours,PankajLaurie Harbour [alsharbour ]Saturday, June 07, 2003 9:00 PMTo: vedic astrologySubject: Re: [vedic astrology] Re: A thought on astrology and thescienceDear Mr. Rao,Thanks for the response. I have read your views and see that you are indeedyourself following the old tradition in a noble fashion, for which I havethe utmost respect. I genuinely wish it could be that way in the U.S.However, it is not. I wonder if it can really be that way for mostJyotishis even if modern India...but about this I don't really know, so Iwon't venture to say anything further. I also wanted to clarify somethingit sounds like you may have misunderstood - I am not a Jyotishi and, thus, have no plans of ever charging fees. I am only a student, but I have aprofound respect and admiration for this Divine Science. I also agree withyou completely that the fees should never be burdensome.Sincerely,LaurieRamadas Rao <ramadasrao (AT) (DOT) co.in> wrote:SRI RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAH OM PURUSHOTTAMAYA NAMAHDear Laurie,I had given the principles laid down in our ancient classics. But in yourcountry the life style is different and you can follow the rules andprinciples of the country you reside. But when you are charging please takecare to see that your charges are a burden to them.</script><script language=JavaScriptsrc=http://us.a1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/a/1-/jscodes/072002/ct_lrec_072002.js></script><noscript><ahref="http://rd./M=253924.3419659.4700922.1261774/D=egroupweb/S=1705082686:HM/A=1380983/R=2/id=noscript/SIG=11drfvihm/*http://companion./config/features5" target=_blank><imgsrc="http://us.a1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/a/ya/_companion/pop_lrec_back.gif" width=300 height=250 border=0></a></noscript></td></tr></table></td></tr><tr><td><img alt="" width=1 height=1src="http://us.adserver./l?M=253924.3419659.4700922.1261774/D=egroupmail/S=:HM/A=1380983/rand=154973982"></td></tr></table><!-- |**|end egp html banner|**| --><br><tt>Archives: <ahref="vedic astrology">vedic astrology</a><BR><BR>Group info: <ahref="vedic astrology/info.html">vedic astrology/info.html</a><BR><BR>To UNSUBSCRIBE: Blank mail to vedic astrology-<BR><BR>....... Guest guest
dear sri. ramadas raoji, i fully agree with you. at the same time dakshina has to come from the person who had come to jyotish for consultation which used to be a practice in good old days. but today, without asking no body parts with anything and in such a situation i doubt whether dakshina will come automatically. so considering the present days, the astrologers has to decide to expect money or not. as you suggested this divine science to be used for betterment of mankind, it is better that astrologers doesn't expect money out of this science but if it comes automatically (provided astrologers chart indicates money from astrology) then it can be considered as a dakshina and no harm in accepting the same. this again is my view and others may differ. with regards, t. v. rao p.s.: i am not a jyotish. - "Ramadas Rao" <ramadasrao <vedic astrology> Sunday, June 08, 2003 5:18 PM Re: [vedic astrology] To :Laurie Harbour > SRI RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAH OM NIDHIRAVYAAYA NAMAH > Dear Pankaj Sharmaji, > I agree with your point but you said an Astrologer has to charge. What is this charge ? Guest guest
Dear T.V.Raoji, I agree with you.The Dakshina has to come from the otherside and I feel we should not ask for that.Anyhow I leave this matter here itself.
