Dear Mr. Ramesh,

I hope, you have asked info about the calculation of Yogi and Ava-yogi.

Please find details as under :

Add the longitudes of Sun and Moon. Further add the figure of 93 deg 20 mts (1st

Yoga is considered to start at Vishakhamba) and reach to the total.

If the total exceeds 360 degrees, expunge the multiples of 360 degrees.

The balance figure need be plotted in the zodiac and this point would belong to some sign and star.

The Star-lord is the Yogi.

The Sign lord is Saha-Yogi

The 6th lord from Yogi in the cycle of Vimshottari dasha planetary order is Ava-yogi.

As an example, Take the case of today 29-12-2003 at 16-09 Hrs IST, Lahiri Ayanamsha.

Long of Sun : 253-22-37

Long of Moon : 332-08-17

Fixed Long : 93-20-00

---

Total : 678-50-54

deduct 360 : 318-50-54

----

The Longitude of 318 deg 50 mts 54 Sec falls in Aquarius in Satabhisha Star.

Hence, Yogi is Rahu

Saha-Yogi is Saturn

Ava-yogi is Venus (6th from Rahu)

The concepts of Yogi-Avayogi alongwith Dagdha-Rasis were highlighted by Sh.

H.S.Sheshadri Iyer, a great astrological scholar. His books "The new techniques

of prediction Vol-I and II" are available with Ranjan Publications at New Delhi.

There are a lot of techniques on predictions about these parameters.

I hope, your queries are answered.

Regards,

Vijay Kumar
