Dear Partha and Senthil,

 

Thank you both for your timely reminder. Your comments will be

useful to me.

 

When I write on astrology on these lists, I am so focussed on the

*technical* aspects that I may sometimes falter in the *human*

aspects.

 

When I write on any nice technique with examples, I normally think

that the technique matters and how well the example fits the

technique matters. I have never bothered about the other aspects of

choosing the examples and language. I have never bothered about the

effect various example would have on people.

 

If I choose the same Rajiv Gandhi or Indira Gandhi or JFK chart to

illustrate 20 different examples, I see that people are ok with it.

If I choose my own chart and give an academic distinction from the

past as an event, I see that it somehow has an irritating effect on

some people. I never even considered that possibility. This may be a

side effect of certain other aspects of my writing style which may

be construed to be arrogant at times.

 

The bottomline is that when people read what I write, they are not

only trying to appreciate/learn a technique, but also trying to

judge me as a person based on the examples chosen and the language

used. This may not be what I bargained for, but that is how some

people are and I have to live with it.

 

Thank you for bringing this important point to my attention. I will

try to be more conscious of your feelings and will try not to

irritate you.

 

Having said that, my warning that those who make *personal* comments

on anyone will be thrown off the list is still active. I will tend

to be lenient with personal comments directed against me. If the

same personal comments are made against anyone else, the offender

will be thrown off the list immediately.
