Is this you are referring Yes, that is what you have to do. The JHora I use allows me to change the timezone. I tell JHora that the native is now living in 6:00 west timezone and not in the 5:30 east timezone where (s)he was born. It will then subtract 11.5 hrs from all the dates (dasa dates, antardasa dates, tithi pravesh chart dates etc) and displays all calculations using the new timezone. Please note that the chart or any data is not being changed, but only the same point in time is being represented in a different timezone. When I start digging deep into daily TP charts and compressed daily dasas, I implemented this feature (as I found it laborious to convert so many times from the Indian time to the USA time). This feature will be available in a new release to be made in 2 weeks. > in your example as EDT. if not what is the time EDT stands for> Hope you may be giving this time difference calculation in your> next version.> > 3) Also I have see the Hora Lagna is different than what I am> getting. The beauty of this system is that you can apply classical principles confidently. Unlike the natal chart that covers one's entire life (which can be too long with too many changes in one's nature, attitude and fortune), TP charts cover just one year or month or day. Because of this narrow focus, classical principles work in a straight-forward way, better than even in natal charts! Sometimes I am amused when I listen to people justifying short-term things based on a natal chart. When justifying something, people forget something else. For example, somebody said Howard Dean's chart is too weak to become a President, because the 5th lord of Power, Venus, is debilitated. I mean, for God's sake, Governor is also a powerful position and the guy was a Governor! Though this is a trivial example, I have seen more complicated variants of such narrow focus logic being used by even very good astrologers. Thus, we sometimes focus on one's nature and fortune from a narrow short-term perspective and misjudge what different planets show. The truth is - nreither one's nature and nor one's fortune is static. They are both dynamic. Thus, an accurate assessment of a natal chart invariably involves assessment of dasas/transits too. And, most of us are not that good in dasas. There are hundreds of dasas and we understand only 2 or 3 dasas and that too not very well. Invariably, we make mistakes and often come up with wrong reasons for things. On the other hand, TP charts are focussed on small periods, during which one's nature and fortune are pretty much static. Thus, it is easier to judge the charts. The principles work more smoothly. In fact, I straightened out a lot of my basics with the help of daily and monthly charts! They don't cheat me, while the natal charts are certainly capable of cheating. I hope the essence, and spirit, of what I am saying are both understood, though what I am saying does not sound nice. :-) > Regards> Raghunadha Rao May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
