Guest guest
Is it just me, or do I see lots of people recently "108"ing their names? What kind of power does this give, and what is it's basis? Is it astrological i.e 1+8=9 = Dharma house of Dharma Trikona, and must the person's chart be supportive in any way (powerful 9th house, for e.g.)? Thank you, Sundeep

Guest guest
I am sorry, the logic still appears incomplete to me. Simply because there are 108 mantras makes the number 108 auspicious? Well, there are 12 planets, so 12 should be auspicious too. There are 9 planets, so 9 itself should be auspicious too. Does the number 108 occur in many many different places perhaps (more than other numbers, perhaps)? For e.g. there are 108 navamsas as well.. Can you elaborate a bit, if possible? Guest guest
Also from another angle a moon has to cover 12 degrees in order to complete 1 tithi. The sun takes 360 days to cover approx 360 degrees. so the moon covers 12 * 360 = 4320 tithis in a year and if you divide it by 108 you get 40 which is the number of days one is advised to stick to a mantra routine. i think the more one plays with the numbers the more likelyhood of seeing patterns). Anyway, others are welcome to share their thoughts. thanks, - Jai vedicastrostudent <vedicastrostudent > wrote: I am sorry, the logic still appears incomplete to me. Guest guest
I just tried it. 149,597,870 / 696000 approx. = 214? How is the distance from the sun to eartg about 108 times the radius of the sun? or did you mean to say something else. Also, please explain what you mean by keeping the eyes 108 times further from the sun..didn't get that. Thank you. - Jaijaidev balagopal <jbalagop > wrote: Very Interesting sprabhakaran (AT) shreem (DOT) com wrote: || Om Gurave Namah ||Dear Members,Another interesting fact about 108.The Distance of the Sun from earth is about 108 times Sun's Radius. If you keep a round circle to hide the sun then the distance you need to keep the circle away from your eyes will be about 108 times the radius of the circle.Warm RegardsS.
