Rashis in the zodiac are in circular fashion, for our convenience we have given them serial numbers. But in a particular Rashi how far the planet has covered that Rashi is taken into Account. Rahu-Ketu are considered only if two planets have same degrees, otherwise these nodes are not considered for Karaka calculations. Atmakaraka is the planet of highest degree then next is Amatyakaraka.I am confused that while deciding the karakas only degree is considered or rasi is also taken in account. If only degree is considered in this case, suppose rahu and ketu are planets of highest degree then there will be two atmakaraka. Please clear my doubt, and also suggest some good books on jaimini astrology. Guest guest
Dear Pankaj, >Rahu-Ketu are considered only if two planets have same degrees, >otherwise these nodes are not considered for Karaka calculations. Whom will they replace then? I have Rahu as pitrikaraka, and there are no planets in same degrees, except for the jnatikaraka and darakaraka then. I can assure you Rahu as pitrikaraka is correct. If two planets are in the same degrees, then we have to look for minutes, and if still the same minutes, then look at seconds to find the respective chara karaka. It will be extremely rare to find 2 planets in exactly the same second in a chart, and even then the same milliseconds. Do you mean then only Rahu can be used?
