Dear Siva, I know you asked Sundeep this question, but may I try to explain the way I see it? Sundeep, please do feel free to answer Siva yourself, I am not trying to speak for you by any means. Consider the traditional theory that the planets cause events in our life. The same traditions also hold that God is the ultimate cause for everything. So, in this mode of thinking, it is "God causes the planets to cause events/actions/thoughts whatever, in our lives". Now take this theory, that the planets are timing the events, and that they are not causing them. Then, it is "God causes planets to indicate certain events etc., and God causes the events etc. in our lives." The final effect is the same, and so is the initial cause. That is why I don't find any contradiction in those two theories. Often times, when I need help from the Divine, it seems as if the help comes through many means, sometimes my own efforts, sometimes the people around me, sometimes favorable situations, sometimes just sheer luck, or through His miracles. Ultimately, though, it is all coming from the same One, either directly or indirectly, as per what we deserve. Just for the record, I have deep faith in Vedic astrology, both because it "feels" right and it "proves" to be right (emotionally and logically, that is). That is why I am part of this list, to learn this wonderful science, art and philosophy. I don't know *why* it works yet, but first I am trying to find out *how* it works, and *what* the heavenly bodies signify. Venkat
