Guest guest
Hare Krishna Dear Sabri- Jay Weiss has added a file with 500 yogas in the "files" section of this group. It is more important to know the significations of the houses, planets and signs in al detail, and other basics, before you memorize yogas. There are too many to memorize them all! However if you understand the basic principles you will recognize the results pretty easily. After you are solid in basics than you can try and recognize the yogas in charts. However i can say i wasted alot of time , just memorizing yogas when i couldve been learning other things. Also there is a book 300 important combinations" by B.V. Raman, it is a nice little book inexpensive and contains most of the basic yogas that are good to know ..dont worry many are similiar. Take Care, Lakshmi P.S> Many of the vedic astro softwares also now have a feature to show the yogas in achart, to help you learn, vedic astrology, "Sabri" <korua@e...> wrote: > Respected Gurus and Learned Members, > > I was working on a compilation of various Yogas from different > sources, seeing the big variety that has been given in different > classics a question of practicality came up; > > Typically how many Yogas does a traditional Pandit or Jyotishi know > by memory and can quickly scan a chart for these. Guest guest
Dear Sabri, Please understand that yogas are based on basic principles of astrology and one who has understood the principles underlying Astrology, does not need to remember all the yogas. Yogas are like empirical formula, making it easier to remember the results. As to remembering the yogas, if you look into Indian History, the Brahmins have carried Vedas unaltered for Thousands and may be Lacs of years by verbal recitation and memorising them. So if one puts his mind to it yogas can be memorised. Whether one can intreprete them with respect to real life horoscopes would depend on one's analytical abilities and grasp over basics of Jyotish.
