Guest guest
Dear all, I thought Karakamsa is "Navamsa of AK". Karakamsaka (i.e "Karakamsa" + "aka") is Rasi chart position of Karakamsa sign (i.e. if Sun is AK in Pisces Navamsa, then Pisces in Rasi chart would be the Karakamsaka). Swamsa is a bit confusing: could be karakamsa, could be lagnamsa, depends on context, so I am quite clueless. Anyway, I would like these terms defined if possible by a Guru. The reason is that I read an article that interprets Karakamsa as what is defined above as Karakamsaka i.e. that author reads the navamsa sign of AK, takes that sign and goes to the Rasi chart, and then reads Jaimini Upadesa Sutra predictions in Rasi chart e.g. when Jaimini says "benefics in Karakamsa produce X and Y effect", he looks in the RASI chart at the navamsa sign of AK, and then sees if benefics are present in it, and if so expects X and Y effect. He says it works very well. So for e.g. if Sun is AK in Pisces Navamsa, he would look in Pisces in the RASI chart to see if benefics are present, and if so conclude X and Y effect. Is this scripturally accurate? Equally important, is it correct in practice? Thank you Sundeep
Guest guest
Om Krishna Guru Dear Sundeep, This issue has been discussed by Sri Sanjay Rath in his translation of Jamini's Upadesa Sutras. Lagnamsa & Karakamsa are specific terms for the Lagna & Ak position IN Navamsa. Swamsa is a broader term, which could be applied to badhakesh even! If you read carefully the chapter on Swamsa, in the above book, it becomes clear. When 'KA' is used it is the position taken from Navamsa and seen in the Rasi chart. Refer Narayana dasa by Sri Sanjay Ji and the Padanadamsa dasa etc., given in that book for more info. i know that there are some, who use it the way you wrote! regards viswanadham vedic astrology, "vedicastrostudent" <vedicastrostudent> wrote: > Dear all, > I thought Karakamsa is "Navamsa of AK".
