One way is seeing the Avasthä of Venus, you will know whether this is an overall good Dasa or bad Dasa. Venus is joined a node putting it in Lajita Avasthä, making him feel ashamed and give low self-esteem. This would have been the exact opposite in Ketu Dasa, as Ketu is joined a benefic, making it a good and happy period with reason to be proud of oneself. This native has Shukra exalted in her third house, Meena. Yet, this dasha is not very favourable to her.Is it because Venus is joined with the malefics in the 3rd house? The main problems she's facing are : 1. Delay/obstacles in marriage. 2. Staying away from home for her job. 3. Constant worries and health problems. 4. It conjoins Ketu - thus taking away the beneficence of Venus and passing on its maleficiance to Venus. Jupiter debilitation is not cancelled in amsa. Jupiter is Retrogade & is weak due to of 'Zero' degree. Jupiter is having lordship of badhaka sthan & Saturn is placed in the bhadhaka sthan. Jupiter is lord of Sukhsthan and debilitated & Sukhsthan is aspected by Saturn. Mars is placed in Maraka sthan and is the lord of 8th. Though Venus is exalted in Navamsa, its dispositor Jupiter is debilitated & conjoins Rahu in 11th. Venus is also Debilitated in D-30 lagna and is aspected by Saturn, Ketu & Rahu. In D-10 Ketu conjoins debilitated Mars and aspects Venus (who conjoins Saturn the 8th lord), - thus passing on the Mars maleficiance. Here your 2nd house is spoiled by the presence of Mars (Refer Jathakachandrika). Guest guest Posted July 25, 2004 Report Share Posted July 25, 2004 Om Gurave Namah Namaste Varun, The weakness of Jupiter, the dhanakaraka and adrishta karaka (karaka for 2H and 9H), and his aspect seems to be the main reason for the sad venus mahadasa. As for the fact that Ketu Mahadasa was good, it could be because the aspect of Jupiter on ketu, who is also debilitated and naturally retrograde, somehow seems to have cancelled the ill effects, though this needs to be researched further. Since Jupiter is also the 7th lord from both lagna and moon, I think the impact is mostly on the business and relationships with others. Also, most of the planets, especially both the Sun and Moon are in nakshatras ruled by Jupiter, so they are unable to sustain the raja yoga promised by Venus. It is also coincidental that Capricorn Narayana dasa is in operation during the said period, perhaps activating the full effects of Jupiter debilitated and retrograde. I am not able to lay hands on the book and shall take sometime to do so. I was thinking arent we on a wrong track by labelling one dasa as good and the other as bad. No dasa is expected to be wholly good or wholly bad. it is always mixed, depending on the Antars and other relationships. I dont still believe that YK Shukr swagrahi in bagyasthan and exalted in the Navmas will give totally bad period in its entire dasa. Varun would probably have to give more details about the intervening periods.
