Vargas - some information from old texts.

Dear Respected members

 

I would like to share some interesting and valuable information on

Vargas which i was able to find from a local text book.These may be

already known to many learned members of the group.

It says Varga are considerations done for Lagna and Planets.

Though there are numerous Vargas ,Shadvarga analysis is a must.As we

know - Kshethra,Hora,Drekkana,Navamsha etc are the various vargas.

When we say kshethra ,it refers to the sign of a planet.For eg if we

want to find the kshethra of lagna (It can be called as D-1 of Lagna

as per modern terminology),we are supposed to find under which

planets kshethra ,lagna is placed.

Eg.If Lagna is in Aries - Kshethra refers to Aries kshethra of

Mars.Similarly if Venus is placed in Dhanu,kshethra refers to Dhanu

kshethra of Jupiter.Thus D-1 as we understand now,the full Rashi

chart ,is not a Varga.Rather the first Varga, is the individual

kshethra for various planets and Lagna.Assuming the Full Rashi chart

as a Varga was our misunderstanding.Similarly we find Hora placemnt

of the Lagna,Drekkana placement of Lagna etc and repeat the same for

all planets.Moreover Hora etc are not only used for ascertaining

wealth,brothers etc - But for ascertaining various other

factors.Eg,If a person is born in Surya hora falling in Oddsigns -

General indications says,he will be cruel,romantic,wealthy and

honoured by Kings.Simlarly results are there for all

shadvargas.Drawing Vargas as full charts, might have been an

assumption from some astrologer.

 

If this post is against any established ,understanding of vargas -

Kindly forgive.My aim is only to seek and share knowledge with

sincerity.May be translation limitations of english language &

explanation of vargas using that, might have led to all confusions.

I request learned members to review this understanding of Kshethra

of individual planets and lagna (and not the full rashi chart) as

the first among shadvargas.

Dear Shri Pradipto

 

If you mean a natal jataka by D-1,then it is simply placing the

lagna and planets in various signs as per panchanga.

 

I have been reading views that the full rashi chart , is a

Varga.Which is not correct.Among shadvargas,the first varga ,named

as kshethra in my mail refers to individual placements of planets

and lagna.

Thus D-1 being used in todays context ideally should had pointed to

to D-1 of Lagna ,D-1 of Sun Etc and not the full chart.

 

For eg If a planet,say sun is in aries in D-1(Aries sign in Rashi

chart),Leo in D-2,Virgo in D-3, Dhanu in D-9 -Then to analyse

shadvaraga we should understand in the following way :Sun is in the

Kshethra of aries,Hora of Leo,Drekkana of Virgo and navamsha of

Dhanu.Now if you want to analyse navamsha matters -think what will

be the result of sun in dhanu based on natural and temporal

relationships including house ownership in Rashi.
