I have chart of a native born in Karachi in 1943. JHL shows time zone as 5hrs

east of GMT. I just wish to reconfirm the correctness of the same for period

prior to independence days. Can someone help me with this? Is there any other

time correction required? Data is as follows;

May 28, 1943Time: 19:20:00Time Zone: 5:00:00 (East of

GMT)Longitude: 67 E 03' 00"Latitude: 24 N 52' 00"

Thanks and regards

Ramesh

Hello Ramesh,

1st Septemeber 1942 till 14th October 1945, the standard time was

changed due to war and an hour was added to Standard Time.

So what time you have is 19.29 hrs, reduce 1 hour and it will be

18.20 hence do that correction.

Dear Ramesh,

War time was applicable in those days.Clocks were advanced by one hour.

So deduct one hour from the time given to get right horoscope.

Dear Chandrashekharji, Imran and Tatvam-Asi,

Thank you for your replies. Is it ok to just correct the time zone from 5 hrs to

6:30 hrs? Or do I only alter the time by 1 hr and keep the time zone at 5:00

hrs? JHL does not seem to change the time zone to 5:30 for pre-independence

days!

Kind regards

Ramesh
