Guest guest
Dear Members, I understand that in India, persons are named according to the position of the moon in their chart. Is this correct? How does this work exactly? Alexandro
Guest guest
Dear Alexandro, Every 1/4th part of a constellation called Nakshatra pada, that is occupied by Moon at birth, is alloted a letter. A child used to be named with that particular letter being the starting letter of the Name. Later on the system of having a Birth name in accordance with Moon's position at birth and a Calling (Roodha) Name evolved. The method assists a Jyotish to know the Mahadasha at birth and the Rasi of Moon ( also known as Moon Lagna) and enables his to predict rough trends of future events on the basis of planetary transits, without the necessity of a birth chart. At least this is my personal opinion. Chandrashekhar. alexandrodem wrote: Dear Members, I understand that in India, persons are named according to the position of the moon in their chart.
