Guest guest
Dear Friends, Some basic info about The Jr. Sankaracharya swamigal is given from Kanchi Kamakoti website which gives birth details of the Junior Pontiff is as follows. H.H. Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal When the Senior Pontiff of the Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swami crossed into Andhra Pradesh, in April 1983 after camping at Mahagon in Maharashtra for several months, the then Chief Minsiter, Sri N.T. Rama Rao, received Him with full honours at Kasturipalli village in Mahabubnagar district. Little did the people know on that day, that very soon they would be having darshan of a new Shankaracharya. A month later, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swami selected His successor. The fourth son of Sri Krishnamurthy Sastri and Smt. Ambalakshmi, Telugu Brahmins who had settled in Tandalam Village, off Periyapalayam near Ponneri, was born on, March 18, 1969 Place of Birth:Tandalam Latitude (DMS): 13° 9' 17 N Longitude (DMS): 79° 57' 17 E with His birth-star as "Uttaraashada" (Actually it should be U. Bhadrapada)This is an error in website. He was named Sankaranarayanan. He was called "Sankaran" by the members of the family. It is again a divine coincidence that one who was destined to become a Shankaracharya was named Sankaran, long before anybody knew that He was to become a Pontiff of the Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt. If anyone has his birth time , it would be great. Tatvam-Asi
