Guest guest
Hi, I am somewhat curious about the concept of 'yogakaraka'. What I understand is that for a particular lagna, if a planet is a yogakaraka, then it will become a benificial planet irrespective of its position in the rashi chart. However, there is also a default assignment of goodness/evilness to the planets, commonly called natural benefics and malefics. For instance, while Mars is of malefic nature, moon is on the good side. However, this natural assignment is overridden if a planet is termed as a yogakaraka for a particular lagna. For example, Mars is a yogakaraka for Karkataka (Cancer) rashi, therefore it will become a beneficial planet. In such a case, I assume all the doshas related to the placement of the yogakaraka planets are nullified as well. e.g. : In Karkataka lagna, there is no kuja dosham even if Mars is placed in house # 1/2/4/7/8/12 from lagna (cancer). Can anyone comment on the accuracy of my interpretation? Thanks, Sagar
