Guest guest
Dear Deepak & Chandrashekhar, The message in my mail was very clear to craet some debate as many new comers are confused and I thank you both for responding. Firstly, I am not implying anything which has not been taken up to debate several times in the past. I fully agree with both of you on the mentioned points and let me state here (with a smile;) that I will be the last person in the world who would attempt to "modify" Jyotish ... no way... However during the last few years I also found that (as Chandrashekhar mentioned) it does not hurt to experiment and the results of using Uranus as an "add-on" (no lordships etc...only natal placemat in rasi, aspects & transits) has helped me (and some others that I know) to "see" things in a chart that otherwise I could not see in the regular manner of dasa etc. It's either my own limited knowledge or ...? In any case I guess that having open mind and experimenting can only do good, especially if they yield results ... The ancients also knew of other Solar systems and Siddhantas mention this. The reason for not considering them is the fact of the basic philosophy of Vedic Astrology, which gives status of 8 Vasus to 8 Planets including Rahu (Ketu being his half they are treated as one Planet). As a matter of fact though Upagrahas of planets are mentioned in ancient texts, it is only in recent years , much after the so called outer planets were discovered, that with space mission they became known to modern men. Some Vedic astrologers do use outer planets and if one able to interpret them correctly there may not be any harm in using them. But then there are some who use a pendulum over a chart to decide what Gem should be used by a querist.Chandrashekhar.J-Weiss wrote: Dear Shubhangi, Many Vedic astrologers use the outer planets. I will write something here that may not fall well on some ears but I think that the classics do not mention the outer planets simply because their existence was not known at that time. It is against human nature to kept away such important issues as planets in our solar system, especially in connection to astrology. There can't be RAYS from some planets and none from others within the same solar system as ours. >From my own experience of nearly 10 years I can only say that I often "save my neck" from people who like to test me (and astrology) by adding the judgement of Uranus in the chart to an analysis. Especially if it's a "quick and dirty" one (which I usually neglect to do). Neptune goes for the same but in a different way as it is "parked" on each degree for a very long time... Although there is no "Uranus dasa" I always use Uranus transits over sensitive points AND it's aspect relation with maha and antadasa planets. My best advice is: TEST IT YOURSELF! Would it be possible to throw any light on this in the absence of any chart?
