Guest guest
||| Hare Rama Krishna ||| Namaste Ramesh Ji, These are not my views – this is my understanding. Somebody else wrote the various classics of Vedic Astrology. :> Yes – in the archives, and other postings, the "strongest planetary influence" was considered as the Ishta, implying the Rsahi Drishti you referenced in the mail below. Later Sanjay Ji clarified that the Parmatma should have a "desire" to grant what one sought. This is why I now choose the ruler of the House, if unoccupied. Earlier, I used to examine Rahi Drishti as well, but I have been told that that those forces will lead one closer to the Ishta. I have not dwelled much into the Vimsamsa (D20) as this requires an accurate chart, and I'm still learning. In the chart that was presented, a form of Lakshmi is recommended, regardless of going deeper in the D20. Just call on the Ishta – the form will reveal itself, with faith. BPHS (translation) gives: Ch. 6. The Sixteen Divisions of a Rashi 17-21. Vimshâñú. From Mesh for a Movable Rashi, from Dhanu for a Fixed Rashi and from Simh for a Common Rashi: this is how the calculations of Vimshâñúas (1/20th of a Rashi, or 1°30' each) are to commence. The presiding deities of the 20 Vimshâñúas in an odd Rashi are, respectively: Kali, Gauri, Jaya, Lakshmi, Vijaya, Vimal, Sati, Tara, Jvalamukhi, Sveta, Lalita, Bagalamukhi, Pratyangir, Shachi, Raudri, Bhavani, Varad, Jaya, Tripura and Sumukhi. In an even Rashi these 20 deities, respectively, are Daya, Megha, Chinnasi, Pisachini, Dhumavathi, Matangi, Bal, Bhadr, Arun, Anal, Pingal, Chuchchuk, Ghora, Vaarahi, Vaishnavi, Sita, Bhuvanesvari, Bhairavi, Mangal and Aparajit. With regard to the Baadhak, I always suggest that the person find a form of Ganesh. For someone who is not as familiar with Hindu Philosophy and is a Christian, I suggest St. Peter. In other faiths and cultures, look upon one who can help remove the obstacles. If the person is comfortable with trying to appease the planet in the referenced Baadhak Sthaana, then sure – go ahead. However, do understand that the Baadhak acts like Rahu, and a good resolution for that is the one it seeks, right across from it – Ketu. Ganesh, is symbolic of the headless one, having the body of a human, that was fitted with an elephant head. There is a deep underlying philosophy lying behind this. With regard to the Chara Karaka Scheme, yes – there is a disappearance or a lopa. In the first replacement between the Atma / Amatya, the Sthira Kaaraka is Jupiter. If weak, there could be a loss or danger to that represented by Jupiter in the native's chart. I would ponder that a replacement would give us very little in our hands to try to help alleviate. A replacement is something we have little control over – the degrees in the Rashi are fixed. The Karmic lessons to be played out will be on a deep level. I do not know how a Sthira Kaaraka can be strengthened or influenced. Hopefully someone more familiar in this area can write to you or the list. Best wishes and warm regards, Nitin. || Namah Shivaaya || Satyam Bruyat Priyam Bruyat Dear Nitin, Thank you for you reply and for giving the link to Sanjayji's article. I respect your views. I am however putting forth a few points to get a better understanding. For selection Sanjayji has mentioned planets that have strongest planetary influence. He has indicated 3 steps. I am not sure if they need to be followed in that order. I gave weightage to planets aspecting since there were none placed in the house. You have opted for the lord. You have a point about Moon being in badhka rashi to 6th. Would it be inappropriate to pray and appease a planet placed in badhka sthana? I shall appreciate if you can give me some reference on D20 that may help in deciding the form. I agree 'absence' was an incorrect word used. The term used by Sanjayji is disappearance. The slot created obviously gets filled. He also takes about lopa (destruction) and I wondered if any remedy was needed for the same.
