Guest guest
|| Jaya Jagannath ||Dear Imaran, No classics mention computation of udu dasas from the divisional moon since you can see the effect of the planet based on the normal vimshottari dasa of the rasi moon's position. For example, If I am running Venus - Mars dasa- antar, I can check their positions in the dasamsa to find out what would be my state of affairs during this dasa and antar. However, I believe that we can use the degrees of a planet in divisional chart for various purposes such as how are the graha drstis and the characteristics of various yogas. The degrees can be easily found for a divisional chart for each planet. Lets take an example, my Jupiter is placed in Aquarius 20d 51m in rasi chart, and I need to find its degree in the D-10. I divide the rasi degrees (20.85 in decimals) by 3 (to arrive at dasamsa position) and get 6.95. This means that Jupiter has moved six full signs in the dasamsa from its starting point and .95 fraction of the next sign. So, though in normal practice, we just place Jupiter in the 7th sign from its starting point, we can also find its degree, .95 fraction of 30degree is 28d 30m. So in Dasamsa Jupiter is placed in 28d 30m in Leo. From this we can also check out, how much time Jupiter would have taken to move out from that sign or we can use this in Transit analysis too. Caution: These are my personal thoughts and one should not blidly follow them without further study and verification. But some experts calculate vimshottari for divisional charts, in order to explain timing of events for every varga in details. What is the rationale(or source) behind computing this variation of udu dasha from divional chart's Moon position. And secondly what is the general forumula to get the said dasha.
