Dear David,

Allow me to share some of my understanding…

Firstly, there is also an elaborate article on the AtmaKaraka (AK)

authored by Pt. Rath below, on the SJC web site:

More comments below…

Hello,

Since the subject has come up a few times recently I wanted to bring

up my own questions regarding Atmakaraka. I have read on Pt. Sanjay

Rath's site some great information regarding this, but I wanted to

take the opportunity to put it to the group as it seems there are

some great individual resources here.

1. What are some classic and theoretical views on the possible

implications of a retrograde Atmakaraka?

[Via Nitin]

A retrograde AtmaKaraka has gained a lot of chesta Bala, the energy

to try to achieve its objective. The atman struggles for doing so.

Getting into Karmix theory, there is also a deep desire from the past

that went unfulfilled, and hence the person really tries to realize

the lessons of life in this lifetime.

2. . . .Implications of the Navamsa vs.the Rashi house position (or

position in other relevant vargas like D-20 or D-30?).

[Via Nitin]

The link above will give you more on the placement of the AK. Extend

the same rules beyond the Rashi / Navamsa to theother charts as well.

3. What are some valid processes for interpreting the chart

regarding karmas emmanating from past incarnation, or present duties

when confronted with a malefic Atmakaraka in a dussthana?

[Via Nitin]

A classified malefic, or a "krura" simply means that the lessons of

life may not come in a nurturing manner. The lessons of life are

harsher.

Again, use the above link to see how the position plays out for the

person.

Also check which House(s) the AK rules, and what are the lessons to

be learnt by its placement in a certain House in the Rashi.

Please excuse if any of these topics are redundant and have been

discussed thoroughly elsewhere on the list.

Sincerely,

David

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Nitin.
