Guest guest
Dear Ramdas Raoji RAM KRISHN HARE Thanks for your reply. I have your earlier mail also.I have Uttarkalamrit hindi translation (with sanskrit verses). So I am sorry that you have to take troubles for it.I actually wanted to say that you just ignore it in my mail.Any way sorry to trouble you and thanks for your kind reply. You have not given your views on calculation of other upgrahas.Gulik calculation is not affected by including NIREESH(NO-LORD) in cycle. However it changes calculation of other upgrahas. So kindly explain how do you calculate remaining upgrahas. As per my understanding longitude of Yamghant is equal to lagn at the end of 3 prahars (or 9 hours) on fridays. If Narasimhas current views are accepted then it is same as sun's longitude at sunset + 180 on fridays. It means there is a difference of 3 hours or 45 degrees in two positions. How will you find yamghant on friday for a day of 12 hours duration? On a related note,I wanted to ask you about rahu kalm in night. Is it applicable at night? If yes,how to find it in night? ------- You have asked about nodes of other planets in some other mail. I will give astronomical explaination of nodes. You take a bangle from a 5 year old girl and another from your wife. Hold them such that their centre is same. Now keep one in horizontal position and other in vertical position. You see that they do not touch each other. But if you see from distance, you will find that they intersect each other at 2 points 180 degrees apart. These two points are nodes.the two bangales are orbits of earth and moon/planet.they are exactly 180 degrees apart as bangles are complete circles but grah-orbits are elliptical. It is therefore possible that the nodes are not always 180 degree apart. In above example, you are holding bangles at 90 degrees from each other but planets are making angle less than 10 degrees. At the time of eclipse, earth as well as moon/planet join its nodes. Since moon completes one revolution/month,it is possible for both earth and moon to join nodes every year. For others, due to longer period of revolution, eclipse do not occure for several years. Moon being very close to earth, shadow covers it completely. Similarly it can also cover sun by its shadow. For others,it may be possible that they are covered by earth's shadow and vanish for some time but shadow of such planets can not cover sun as it is too small when seen from earth and appear as Dot only. This is what is happening on June 8,2004. Such events are very important as on this occasion, heliocentric and geocentric longitudes become same.Nodes are a part of calculation in case of longitude of all planets(except sun/rahu/ketu).It is possible to find longitude of nodes of all planets in any chart using fixed speed formulae just like rahu/ketu. Eclipse blocks light of sun/moon from reaching earth and corresponding to lack of such light,we predict results in Jyotish.Blocking of light from sun by venus is very small and may not be very significant from jyotish view. However when venus is vanished due to eclipse, its karakatwas will suffer. But such events are not heard as there is nothing to see!
