In a prediction before the US presidential elections, I wrote in

I want to explain the reasoning behind it. Here are the pratyantardasas before the election:

Make the commencement charts for each pratyantardasa (PD) and judge the

planetary positions in D-10 from the PD sign. For example, take Ta PD (Oct

17-19). In that chart, Saturn in Ar and Rahu in Ge have papa kartari on Ta. It

shows setbacks. In the commencement chart of Ge (Oct 19-22), Rahu in Ge, Mars

and Ketu in Sg and Jupiter in Leo show troubles. In the commencement chart of

Cn (Oct 22-25), Saturn in Ar, Moon and Rahu in Ge are badly placed.

 

But you will see that the PD commencement charts start looking good from Le PD.

In the commencement chart of Le PD (Oct 25-27), Jupiter in 2nd, Mars in 6th and

Venus in 10th (from Le) are well-placed. In the commencement chart of Vi PD (Oct

27-30), Jupiter in 1st, Moon in 9th, Mercury and Venus in 10th (from Vi) are

well-placed. In the commencement chart of Li PD (Oct 30-Nov 1), Mercury and

Venus in 10th (from Li) are well-placed.

 

The PD running at the time of election was Sc. That PD ran during Nov 1-4. In

that commencement chart, Mercury in 9th, Moon and Venus in 10th (I consider

Moon of Krishna Panchami to be a mild benefic), Jupiter in 11th and Sun in 5th

(all from Sc) are well-placed. Sun in friendly, own and exaltation signs is

considered a benefic according to Parasara. So Sun in Pisces at the

commencement of Scorpio PD shows getting power. Benefics in 5th (esp Sun) from

progressed Sun show power.

 

For this reason, I thought that things would be dicey till Oct 25 and Bush would

gain in the last week.

 

If you look at John Kerry's D-10 based SC dasa, here are the calculations:

If you make a chart at the commencement of Ta PD, you will see that Ta has papa

kartari from Saturn and Rahu. A malefic (Mars) occupies 10th. According to

Parasara, malefics are good only in 3rd, 6th qand 11th from dasa/AD/PD sign.

PS: Parasara said that Sudarsana Chakra dasa, when combined with ashtakavarga,

allows accurate annual, monthly and daily predictions. He did not say the same

thing about any other dasa. So this dasa is well worth our effort to understand

it.
