Guest guest
|| Namah Shivaaya || Dear Hamendra, The concept of Gandanta extends beyond Rashi Sandhi.... A planet is in Gandanta when it is in the last few degrees between a FIRE and a WEATER sign. For example, a planet @ 29degrees Cancer is considered Gandanta. Cancer, a watery sign, and Leo, a fiery one. This is because the NAKSHATRA deities, next to each other in this area are considered as enemies. n anology can be further extended stating the planet is on its way out, yet not quite integrated in a new environment. Hence, it is weak. Look at the Houses that the planet rules. Thoose houses will be influenced significantly due to this planets placement. Nakshatras help is further refine our understanding of the snapshot of the heavens at time of birth. Even exaltation / debilitation states have specific degrees mentioned in the classical texts. Understand the Nakshatra and its lord / deity for grasping this concept deeper. A planet cannot be exalted, and in gandanta at the same time. Perhaps more learned members can offer some remedies.... Again, a wholistic picture is always appreciated. Hope that this helps. Take care. Best wishes, Nitin.
