Guest guest
Dear Sarbani Sarkar, Please produce evidence for what you have alleged. Before making such allegations you will do well to make thorough verification and enquiry. It appears there is a need to reiterate some points. It has been brought to our notice recently that Manorama Occult is selling Xerox copies of our back issues for Rs. 200. Please note: subscriptions and sale of current and back issues is only conducted through SJC office in New Delhi and nowhere else for the time being. If anyone wishes to distribute the magazine in countries outside India, they will need to get in touch with me first. Also note, Shailesh does not deal with the sale and distribution of the magazine. We needed to do this as we realised a year ago that a few reputed names in India have been issuing subscriptions abroad and selling the journal without our knowledge. As SJC tided over a severe financial crunch, it did not deserve to be cheated. As a part of our policy taken a year and a half back "to bring the house in order" we have streamlined JD management considerably. Our only official distributor in India is the Central News Agency, New Delhi. We are working towards tiding over delivery glitches (New Yorkers faced the brunt of it), towards registering the journal under the Indian Newspapers and Magazines Act, towards having national distribution so that the journal will be eventually available in book stalls, bus stands and railway stations and towards select international distribution. By the end of this year, we hope to achieve most of it, despite the fact that I am travelling constantly and remote controlling operations from Puri. Guest guest
||OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA|| Dear shri Chadhha ji, During my last purchse of books I have enquired about the past issues of JD. While replying my mail regarding the despatch of one parcel of books youhave very clearly quoted the price of the old JD issues as Rs.200 per issue. Taking the reference of the same I have told Sarbaniji regarding this. This is not at all a serious matter. I agian tell you that yu have only mentioned the price of it as Rs.200/- per issue. Reallising that it is much on highe side I have not ordered it till today. I also remember during our telephonic talks you have told me the same thing. Sarbaniji has never said that I have pruchased the JD from you but during my discussions I told him that you have quoted the price of it as Rs.200/-. Kindly clear the confusion. There is no question of alleging you niether from myside nor from Sarbaniji's side. Kindly note the fact and finish off the discussions. I think the things are very clear from my side. Guest guest
CC to Mr Sanjay Rath :: An explanation and apology from Ms Sarbani Sarkar must be cirulated to the various lists where maligned allegation of 'selling xerox copy' has been circulated otherwise I will have to explain to my buyer's mailing list which is a very time consuming job. Dear Dewavratji, Old Issues of JD are still offered at $5.00 (includes air mail charges) at the site www.vedicweb.com/Manorama.htm for that reason I might have offered it to you @200.00 as my aim was to retain few copies for late starters overseas. Subscription service for JD was not that efficient in the beginning and many overseas customers were requesting back and future issues from me. I supplied few issues to such buyers and GWBrennan (AT) aol (DOT) com was one of them, as he had written many articles for the Digest and wanted those issues. From your email it becomes clear that "selling xerox copy @200.00 was Ms Sarbani's interpolation. To quote from her email,: "It has been brought to our notice recently that Manorama Occult is selling Xerox copies of our back issues for Rs. 200." This has been circulated to following lists too but my denial or clarification will not be," varahamihira ; vyasa ; vedic astrology ; I am CC'ing it to Mr Sanjay Rath also, as it involves his magazine's name and my firm as well as my reputation. Thanks for clarification. Guest guest
Dear Sarbani Thank you for the information given to me in your e-mail of May 3rd regarding sale of Jyotish Digest, I took note as requested. However It seems I have been drawn into this discussion by Mr. Shiv Chadha, possibly from inclusion in that e-mail. I would like to make it clear to anyone who has been reading the correspondence on this subject that the latest e-mail from Mr. Chadha, receipt timed at 05:39:58 on 07/05/04 contains a strange assertion - inexplicable to me - that I have been supplied Jyoitsh Digest by Mr. Chadha. I have not nor have I requested supply from him - although I did request the supply from the publishers directly some months ago. Also I have never written an article for Jyotish Digest, so I could not have wanted the issues containing those articles. Actually I have never ordered anything from Manorama Occult Publications.
