Guest guest
I got only a couple of Charakaraka questions from others. I have several of my own. I am unable to upload them in a file to this group and I am unsure which email address works for you, so here they are: [sundeep Prakash]Does Karaka Bhava Nasa apply to Sthira Karakas or Chara Karakas? COVA explains it as applying to Chara Karakas in two ways: (a) (Chapter 9, 12.11.2) If Chara Karaka happens to be the same as the corresponding Naisargika Karaka (e.g. if Chara AK is Sun - which is also Naisargika AK) (b) (Chapter 9, 12.11.1) If Chara AK rules the house signified by the Naisargika AK e.g. if Moon is AK for a Cancer ascendant. [sundeep Prakash]Is there any significance to a Chara Karaka being IN the house that it signifies e.g. Chara AK being in the 1st house, Chara PiK being in the 9th house etc? [sundeep Prakash]Is there any significance to a Chara Karaka being placed in the Arudha pada of the signified house e.g. Chara AK being in the AL, or Chara DK being in the Upapada or Darapada? [sundeep Prakash]It is said that serving the person indicated by the CharaKaraka signification of the Ista Devata is equivalent to worshipping the Ista Devata. What is the logic behind this? For example if Sun is your Ista Devata and Sun happens to be your PiK, then serving your father is equivalent to worshipping your Ista Devata. Why does this apply specifically to the Chara Karaka signification of the Ista Devata planet, and not, for example, the house ruled by the Ista Devata planet - for example, in the case cited above the Sun as PiK may rule the 10th house of the chart. Why can we not interpret this as devoting yourself to your career is equivalent to worshipping your Ista? [sundeep Prakash]Is there any connection between Ista Devata and people who have the same planet Ista Devata as AK? For example is Sun is my Ista, will associating with Sun AK people be beneficial for me? [sundeep Prakash]The Chara Karaka replacement scheme is rather confusing when more than 2 planets are involved. In my example, I have Venus as AK at 28 Can 57, Mars as AmK at 28 Vi 10 and Mercury as BK at 28 Ge 08. Does Mercury replace Mars as AmK first and then replace Venus as AK (such that Mars never becomes AK), or does Mars replace Venus as AK first? The times at which the replacement occurs is also unclear. [sundeep Prakash]In which areas are the new Chara Karakas (after having gone through Chara Karaka replacement) applicable? For example, if your AK changes as a result of CK replacement, do you now calculate your Ista Devata as the strongest influence of the 12th house from the Navamsa placement of the new AK, or does you Ista remain the same as it always was? [sundeep Prakash]Why does AK being the same as Ista Devata imply being a Karma Yogi. Shouldnt it also influence Lagna for the person to be a Karma Yogi? [sundeep Prakash]What does it mean for the AK to be strongly influenced by the Ista Devata (e.g. through conjunction), in the various charts e.g. Rasi, Navamsa, Vimsamsa? [sundeep Prakash]Are CharaKarakas meaningful in Tithi Pravesha Charts? Do the natal chart Charakarakas also have meaning the Tithi Pravesh charts? [Phyllis Chubb] Can you discuss the effect of Charakarakas being in Gandanta? [utpal Pathak] Can you please justify the use of the 8 charakaraka scheme with Rahu and PiK versus the use of the 7 charakaraka scheme [sundeep Prakash] Can you please explain the conditions on the Chara AK for final emancipation. In Santhanam's translation of the BPHS, Chapter 33, Slokas 63-74, he interprets: "If there be a benefic planet in exaltation or in own house in the 12th from Karakamsa or if Ketu is so placed and aspected by or conjunct a benefic one will attain heavens after death. One will attain final emancipation if Ketu is in the 12th (from Karakamsa) identical with Aries/Sagittarius and is aspected by a benefic. If Ketu is in the 12th from Karakamsa and be with aspect/conjuction of a malefic one will not attain final emancipation". In JUS, it is said that if AK is in Pisces Navamsa, one will attain final emancipation. From Santhanam's translation, it appears that AK in Taurus or Capricorn Navamsa with Ketu in 12th from it Aries/Sagittarius, aspected only by benefics, will give final emancipation.
