I am forwarding this to the list with my comments… ======== Dear Nitin ji, Namaskaar. Thank you for your response...... Please refer my comments below.... Nitin [astronitin] Friday, December 24, 2004 21:28 vedic astrology [vedic astrology] #2 Dream - snake head alone biting left calf / thigh --- is this significant? ||| Hare Rama Krishna ||| Dear Vinoo, Namaskaar. Allow me to share some of my understanding on your dream. Sanjay Ji did reveal a few methods to go over dreams at a previous conference… First, one has to validate the dream i.e. can this be classified as something random, and meaningful, as opposed to the mind just trying to release some stress? I will assume that this dream awoke you after a night's rest. i.e. you did not awake at an earlier hour, in routine, and then took a short "nap" till you were awoken again. [VMT says] My 2 year old son had woken up and I had helped put him to sleep at about 3/3.30 and then gone to sleep..... it surely was not a short nap.... I slept atleast 3 hours after putting my son to sleep. [Via NK 2] I was a little hesitant to proceed, but what you wrote below makes more sense, and more thoughts below. Symbolically -- Jupiter (Son) awoke the Sun (you). Secondly, I assume that the dream imagery were random, and not somehow influenced by what you may be considering / contemplating recently – such as researching snakes for study, planning to go to a place where snakes are revered, etc. If this is the case, we can proceed further. [VMT says] No, there is no way I could have any snake related imagery etc....... thought something like 2 months back I did save a nonpoisonous snake from death - it had got trapped, I let is loose. So I do believe it is something meaningful..... [Via NK 2] OK – here, I thought that some of this has been playing in your dream. Compassion towards animals is a thoughtful gesture, and what you did is reflected more so… Now, based on the situation described, I have the following placements: [VMT says] I am curious, I am also trying to learn here - are you using a chart here - which one? [Via NK 2] This is the dream (Swapana) Chart. Sun in Lagna Rahu in the 9th House WITH Jupiter (Alternative is Rahu in the 11th, but I dismissed that after some consideration) Now, the 9th House is the dream lagna (being the 10th from the 12th). Using the 9th as the lagna, just continue to read, as you normally would. The below is very general. There is someone who wanted to cause you, or your reputation or your image some harm. Some forces had a desire to lead you in a certain pathway or consider certain options, but you refrained. You may have been in a moral dilemma in selecting these pathways. You may have had the support of an authority figure who either had a prominent role (though not so openly) or someone well respected to curtain the struggle you were in. Its possible, you felt caught in between a certain situation or a philosophy. Again, these are general, and one could ask you more questions on the dream description. (i.e. whilst you say you remained without injury, was there ay blood, etc?) Hope some of this helps. If the above sounds too random, vague, or you do not agree, feel free to sate so. [VMT says] None of this sounds random, I am going through a lot, dilemmas and changes and challenges, -- and yes I am able to draw parallels from my current life. [Via NK 2] Yes – the dream chart is indicative of the great stress you have been facing. I can describe more of the dream.... there is no blood that I see..... it is not a full snake, just the severed head of a snake...... there is also a genial old man in the dream, some how I do not perceive any threat from him, I also seem to be aware that he is there to help me through something..... he is aware of a stage I have to cross and he is helping me do it. There is faint drizzling rain, there is also a stream of running water close by....the snake lets out a shriek as I force it to release it's bite... [Via NK 2] In Guru Chandala, it is recommended that the Sun be strengthened, as He is the one who has authority. Guru is weak, and peaceful in disposition. Rahu's nature is not the same as Guru. Hence you (the Sun in Lagna) was strong enough to take care of Rahu. Personally the meaning I have been drawing is that I have crossed some important stage where I have liberated myself from the clutches of some evil force.... One interpretation that I have been toying with is ----> I see the snakes head as Rahu - the evil one.... maybe I just managed to get rid of his clutches. [Via NK 2] Yes – there has been the overcoming of certain stressful scenarios. Rahu is not evil – this is a poor interpretation of the NavaGrahas. Rahu is generally unconventional and does not follow the natural order of the Sun. However, I can understand the stress, based on the words you used to describe a parallel in your life… A few months back I was advised to get 18000 Rahu japam done by somebody who saw my chart.... I have been trying to find somebody to do it, but have not been successful so far.... the last 5 to 6 months have been intensely spiritual for me...... several visits to holy places and several prayers and poojas etc...... [Via NK 2] I have not looked at your natal chart. I'm sure others can comment on it. The swapna chart reveals a lot. Best wishes and warm regards, Nitin. || Namah Shivaaya || [VMT says] I would very much like to hear what you and other learned people on the list think......Is it at all a sign that I might have reduced the effects of Rahu on me? [Via NK 2] Yes, I think so too. However, you have also gotten help from someone / something, knowing or unknowingly… With thanks and warm regards, Vinoo [Via NK 2] Hope this helps. || Namah Shivaaya || Dear Gurus and learned friends, Early this morning - say 5 am I had a dream..... A snakes severed head is biting me on the left calf / thigh, I feel no pain and I am surprisingly calm, I reach down with my left hand and press down on the snakes jaws and cause to let go of the bite..... I can then hear the snake scream.... a scream of anguish, anger and disappointment..... I throw it away..... I sustain no damages...... Is this significant at all? Can somebody help me understand it if it is? > > This has been on my mind all day, especially since it is severed snakes > head - not the whole head. > > If it is necessary my chart is attached..... > > With thanks and regards, > > Vinoo ========
