Guest guest
|| Om Gurave Namah || Dear Vipin, When you compared Raman with Lahiri results for the planets and said the positions dont match I thought you may have had some mistake. As they are both supposed to be different as the Ayanamsha is different. Since you write this mail I let me try to understand what you are wanting to say by going thru that software and see what it's doing when I have time. Sayana zodiac is called tropical zodiac. If you select Ayanamsa option in Jhora you will see it. Generally I use Jagannatha Hora or other Jyotish software and dont use Sky chart generators used by Astronomer and sky watchers. -Warm Regards Sanjay vedic astrology, Vipin Aggarwal <sparklingseagreen> wrote: > Thanks anyway, > BUT it wud have been better if u have gone thru NASA or the software. It uses NIRAYAN and not SAYAN. I know the difference. I myself made an astrological software as my Final year project for BE comp engg. So, Try to get back with facts. NASA goes by Sidereal(nirayan) zodiac always and not Tropical(sayan) zodiac which is only for weather prediction. > > > > > Mail - now with 250MB free storage. Learn more. Guest guest
Hello Vipin and all, Concerning comparison of Lahiri and Raman ayanamsa, you might be interested in a web page by Sanjay Rath: http://srath.com/vip/tagore.htm This compares Lahiri, Raman and another ayanamsa and concludes that "the real ayanamsa is between Lahiri and Raman". Mr Rath then suggests that students go on using Lahiri for the time being. I'm very surprised that Vipin says Nasa use sidereal zodiac, I've never seen this in any Western astronomy, the coordinates are always tropical (in right ascension and declination from the current vernal point). I don't see how NASA could agree on which ayanamsa to use, so how could they use sidereal? If they did, it almost certainly wouldn't be an Indian ayanamsa.
