Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Dear David, Namaskar. Is Sun in a kendra in the Rasi chart? Jup is the karaka for children. Children are fruits of Dharma. Navamsa dispositor, shows the bhagya in that area. Its good placement (Kendras & konas are considered good places) in Rasi shows the children in physical world. Then there should not be any OTHER blemish... is it not?! regards suryaviswanadham vedic astrology, David Andrews <andrews635> wrote: > Dear Gurujis, learned astrologers and list members, > > Sloka 170 of Panchama Viveka of Mahadeva's Jataka Tatwa is translated, "If the lord of the > Navamsa occupied by Jupiter is in kendra position, the native shall have children." > In a Rasi chart, Jupiter is posited in Leo. Guest guest
Thank you for your comments. In Navamsa, Jupiter is in the ascendant. (not that i am qualified to comment on that shloka otherwise)overall, my understanding of interpreting the scriptures is that they are purposefully written in hyperbolic language, and also should not be taken verbatim, or in isolation from other factors in the chart as a whole.kalidas- In vedic astrology, David Andrews <andrews635> wrote:> Dear Gurujis, learned astrologers and list members,> > Sloka 170 of Panchama Viveka of Mahadeva's Jataka Tatwa is translated, "If the lord of the > Navamsa occupied by Jupiter is in kendra position, the native shall have children."> In a Rasi chart, Jupiter is posited in Leo. Guest guest
Dear David, I think you are referring to shloka 179. The principle is that if Lord of Navamsha occupied by a planet is strong then the Planet gains strength and in turn the Bhava owned by it and its Karakatwa gains strength. However in the case you have cited. Navamshesh of Jupiter is Sun and not Jupiter. Jupiter is Vargottam and aspects 5th so normally it should give progeny, but for the fact that he is also lord of th 8th. So if Sun (dispositor of Jupiter the Putra Karaka) is also in strength in Navamsha progeny should be given. Chandrashekhar. Guest guest
Thank you for the response. Yes, Sun is in kendra in the Rasi Chart. I would like to know whether we could apply the sloka ad verbatim and whether it is reliable. I am looking forward to an authoritative statement from Gurujis and learned astrologers. Guest guest
Thank you for taking your time to respond to my email. I did in fact quote Shloka 169 of Panchama Viveka (as translated into English by S.S. Sareen) of Sagar Publications Mahadeva's Jataka Tatva reprint of June 1994, page 135. Shloka 169 as translated reads as follows: "If the lord of the Navamsa occupied by Jupiter is in a Kendra position, the native shall have children." I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
