Hare Rama Krishna

Dear Jyothi, Namaskar.

Indeed it is an eye opener. Jyotishya is a vedanga (veda+anga) and

represents the "eye".

So by definition it is supposed to throw light and enable us to see

(the past, present & the future - trikala jnana).

Let us say, using the shastra we are able to identify the past karma,

vasanas & are able to choose the path of least resistance for

our 'common' goal. Is it OK to say that Jyotishya is a great tool?

There were many discussions on the same lines in the past also; in

the archives you can find them. This article was also posted on

Jagannatha group earlier.

Understanding this shastra from this point of view, indeed helps in

appreciating good/bad, benefic/malefic as only relative terms.
