Testing Vimshottari periods

I have recently compared the Vimshottari dasha periods in the

Parasara system (Lahiri ayanamsa) with the KP Stellar system (dashas

calculated with Krishnamurti ayanamsa) and have found the following:

I had a motorcycle accident in the middle of my Sade Sati period on

10.14.01 at 5:20 pm Dallas, Texas. I computed the dasha periods for

this date and found them to be:

Jup Mer Sat Mar (Lahiri)

Jup Mer Sat Rahu (Krishnamurti)

Now I know that Mars rules accidents, so is it safe to assume that

the Lahiri and Parasara system is more accurate in predicting events

in my life?

Namaste,

I use Lahiri. But do not discount Rahus role in accidents. Rahu can be

equally culpable in causing accidents. Infact rahu can cause sudden

events.

....

Dear John ,

One swallow does not a summer make !

The whole chart is to be studied , the houses in the two systems , the

nature of the accident and so on . For example , if Mars is in any way

related to Rahu , for example , Mars sitting in Rahu nakshatra , or Rahu

sitting in Mars Nakshatra or Rashi , of Mars conjunct Rahu the results of

Mars and Rahu will be similar .

Regards ,

Jai Jaganath,

Panditji you are very right - Rahu does strike very suddenly

Sharing my experience.....last year 14th Dec 2004, out of no where a disposal

truck crashed into my car from rear, leaving my car in the workshop for 6

weeks. Luckily no one was hurt.

Based on Vimsottari I was running Moon > Ven > Mer > Sat > Rahu
