Guest guest
Dear Shaziya, Why just these two dashas? there are about a hundred types of different dasha systems given in our classics.First you need to think why do we need so many Dashas? Different dashas are there for us to be able to look at different things in life. When any event happens in our life it effects us in more than one ways.It has a mental impact, social, psychological, spiritual etc.Dashas are just tools to time events. There are special dashas to time renunciation because it is an event which happens in the life of few people. These people grow spiritually and many a times go beyond our normal material way of thinking. To choose out of the various dashas given by the sages there can be many ways.First see what you want to look at and decide accordingly. For general readings there can be two things you can consider when you want to choose a Dasa: 1.See what applies to the chart.Any special conditions like Lagna lord in the 7th house,Moon being stronger than the lagna etc and choose the Dasa accordingly. 2.You can choose what works best for you as an astrologer.Sanjay Guruji taught that usually when the Moon is strong the Astrologer will work better with Vimsottari Dasa and when Jupiter is strong the astrologer will work better with Narayan Dasa. I have Jupiter in lagna and I usually do not predict unless the Narayan dasa confirms what I conclude.I do use Vimsottari Dasa as well but I tend to be faster with Narayan Dasa.It can be a personal preferance too You have talked about two dashas. Now Vimsottari dasha is calculated from the Moon and indicates the movement of the mind through life.Hence it will indicate how the native feels or experiences in different phases of life.Narayan Dasha indicates the circumstances around the native. It is how Narayan manifests life around the native. The basic difference between the two is in Narayan dasa the lagna progresses through the chart where as in Vimsottari dasha we focus on the native.Alot can be read and understood about dashas and if you do some amount of reading and explore in time you will be able to see what you feel most comfortable using the most. Guest guest
Dear Panditiji, > Are you suggesting Vimshottari dasha is not used to predict events ?? > Could you give any reference to this line of teaching . Process of acting is going in this way : Thinking ----> Feeling --> Willing ---> Acting. If we desire something it manifest in events. I use Vimshottari for both but we have to know, that Udu dasa basicly are dominated by Moon. with regards, Rafal
