Guest guest
What I think the power of any planet including sun and moon depends upon these factors. 1. Which house they are sitting in. 2. With whom they are sitting with. 3. Whose aspect is there , eg if functional behefic jup is aspecting it , its gonna be good. 4. Moon is waxing or waning 5. Are they exlated or debilitated or in inmical sign or friendly sign. 6. Whose NKT they are in. 7. What is their avastha , child , youth , old etc depending on their degrees. Thanks Rajeshjyothi_lakshmi_b <jyothi_lakshmi_b (AT) (DOT) co.in> wrote: Respected Sirs, Let me first thank all the scholars who are promptly replying and clearing my doubts. Please dont laugh at my ignorance about Jyotisha. I am just a beginner and hence I have so many doubts pending in my mind, which I didnt get a chance to clear due to lack of a proper platform. Thanks a lot to vedic astrology group. Now , my doubt is how can we check if sun and moon is powerful in ones chart? Many said that yogas can be powerful only if the luminaries are powerful. In my horoscope, moon is in Cancer along with saturn with 4 bindus in chandrashtavarga. I was born at night(Krishnapaksha Dwadashi). Does birth at night indicate that sun is not strong(plz dont laugh :-))) And since I was born near to amavasi does it mean moon is also not strong? Please tell me how to check the strength of sun & moon.Regards,Jyothi.Archives: vedic astrologyGroup info: vedic astrology/info.htmlTo UNSUBSCRIBE: Blank mail to vedic astrology-....... Guest guest
Om Dakshinamurtaye Namah Dear Jyothi, Apply the general rules of strength.Any planet will be strong if in: 1.Exaltation. 2.Swashetra. 3.Moolatrikona. 4.Dig Bala. 5.It becomes the Atma Karaka. Further you can see the placement in the Navamsha too.A planet will become weak when afflicted by strong malefics, ill placed, cumbust, in rashi sandhi, in debility etc. Also look at the rashi its placed in, is it a friend's house or not. When we look at the Moon we can add one more think. The tithi, you should look at the tithi of birth which will further explain the strength of the Moon. Night birth do not indicate the Sun is not srtrong.Saturn's conjuction with Moon makes the Moon weaker but since its in Cancer some of the ill effects will get nullified. Best Wishes, Kanupriya. >"jyothi_lakshmi_b" <jyothi_lakshmi_b (AT) (DOT) co.in> >vedic astrology >vedic astrology >[vedic astrology] When can sun & moon be powerful? >Mon, 28 Mar 2005 00:57:23 -0000 > > >Respected Sirs, > > > Let me first thank all the scholars who are promptly replying and >clearing my doubts. Guest guest
Hello Jyothi There are different types of Balas or strenghts that one has to look at., For sun, the ayana bala, the uchcha bala, digbala, sthanabala are important/ For moon the Paksha bala, Kala bala, digbala and sthanabala are important. Moon should be preferably waxing or if not, then well associated to give good results. Sun should not be eclipsed, or should not be in weak houses such as 2,12,7,8 respectively. There are host of factors to be considered best wishes partha vedic astrology, "jyothi_lakshmi_b" <jyothi_lakshmi_b> wrote: > > Respected Sirs, > > > Let me first thank all the scholars who are promptly replying and > clearing my doubts. Guest guest
Hello In my humble opinion, there are few things, which we must differentiate - bala of a planet (strength), nature of planet (shubha or ashubha) and its means of giving results (krur or somya) are three different parameters, though looking like interlinked. A planet can be strong (powerful) and somya, but can be devastating. with specific reference to moon's strength, though moon is considered very week for krishna paksha (esp near amavasya), but can be very effective in results; Great Sage RamaKrishna Paramhansa had moon close to sun, but it gave him excellent results. Moon in 6th house, though considered weak, but is very good for materialistic pursuits. (with bit ego!! especially if exalted). another example - no planet on either side of moon makes it very weak, taking away most results from native (yes there are cancellation of yoga as well with few combinations); but in many cases, I have observed such moon (without any cancellation combination existing) giving very positive results. another typical example of one tip extended to me by a local (experienced astrologer long back)- that moon though considered very good in pushya, very often leads to financial disaster for father (immediately after birth)- Yes this downfall is for short duration only. I checkedup this positioning for 8/10 charts and found it close to accuracy. Very often, we mix with strength with its power to do good for a chart or otherwise. a planet may be weak (not powerful in terms of balas), but can be very positive in terms of results. In my view, so called weak moon ( due to being near sun or without any planets on either side or in 6/8/12h house etc) can still make it a positive planet but may create some volatility (krur ) in terms of its behaviour. Whether it will be good or bad, (i.e. shubha or ashubha) will largely depend upon its functional nature WRT lagna. Another issue related to Moon- see the placement of moon in navamsa and take that sign as moon sign in rasi chart for the prupose of transit analysis (nadi literature supports this dictum). regards/Prafulla -- In vedic astrology, "V.Partha sarathy" <partvinu@g...> wrote: > > Hello Jyothi > > There are different types of Balas or strenghts that one has to look > at., > For sun, the ayana bala, the uchcha bala, digbala, sthanabala are > important/ > For moon the Paksha bala, Kala bala, digbala and sthanabala are > important. > > Moon should be preferably waxing or if not, then well associated to > give good results. > Sun should not be eclipsed, or should not be in weak houses such as > 2,12,7,8 respectively.
