Upapada and AL of D1/D9?

Respected Sirs,

While analysing the marriage prospects, AL and Upapada of which

chart should be considered, D1 or D9? Kindly clear my doubt if anybody

knows.

Dear vistiji,

please see the attached chart. In this chart, the

Upapada lagana should fall in the sixth house, but the

software is showing third house. can you please clear

the doubt about the UL in this chart.also, please

throw somw light on the marriage prospects of this

native.

See malefics in Kendras, see 7th house. Marriage prospects are not good,

specially in present Rahu dasa Saturn bhukti. Person seems to be a

peace-loving, soft and handsome.

Based on

the calculations given by Parasara, there is an exception if the arudha falls

in the first or seventh houses from its house of origin. Example: Upapada is

calculated from the twelfth house, so the exception steps in when the upapada

falls in the twelfth house or sixth house. When it does fall in these houses,

count to the tenth from the sixth/twelfth house and thats where the upapada

will sit. So in the case you cite, you calculated the upapada to fall in the

sixth house. It cannot fall here so count to the tenth therefrom – namely

the third house.

As for the

application of Upapada, i see that Praveen has already taken a headstart and

can help you analyze the upapada. He seems to be learned and must have been

taught Parasara’s dictums very well.
