Dear Shri.Sridhar,

Kaalavedhanam an ancient classic compiled by Maraati Maharaja Sarabhoji

describes that how and why a baby’s 1st year completion is to be performed on

the jenma nakshtra day. Similarly Jaathaka Gragha Chintamani prescribes that

how and why Shastiyapthapurthi and Sadhabhishegha are to be performed on the

jenma nakshtra day to mark the completion of 60th and 80th birthday of an

individual.

I can understand that there may be some procedural / practical differences in

the follow-up of rituals, between the people who live on the either sides of

Vindhiyas. But however your message imply that some thing unusual that excits

among the races of Vedic Pancha-Dhiraveda.Kindly elucidate your argument with

some classical reference.

Dear Shrr Sathiyanarayan Gupta

I have mentioned only the Practice, as far as celebration of the Birthdays is

concerned. Regarding the celebrations of the 60 and 80 th Birthdays, when some

homas are also performed, the Birth Nakshatra day is the day fixed.

Dear Shailaja

18 may 2005 The tithi is 10 Dasami, but the Masa is Vaishakha/ not Jyesta when

your daughter was born. Where are you located now ? Is there No Hinoo Priest

there ? Are you performing any Homa to celebrate the day ?
