Guest guest
Dear Mr Sarbani, I read your article ( post 40112) on Akshay thritiya. You have stated Vaishaka month ( sun's transit in Aries). Is favourite month of Vishnu and described it as the most sacred and Subbah of all months As per Tamil almanac the month when Sun Transits Aries ( 14th April to 14th May) is called Chittirai and this year the Akshay thrithiya fell on 11th May .So as per Tamil almanac it is chittirai month and not Vaisaka (Vaikasi) May I request you to clarify this disparity. Thanking you N.Balasubramanian. Note: You had refered messg no 9206 on the same subject. But the message is Julie Luker <jbluker Wed Sep 19, 2001 6:53 pm my significant other. There seems to be typographical error this also may be clarified. vedic astrology, Suryaviswanadham> Wrote-- Hare Rama Krishna Dear Friends, Namaskar Pls refer to a post by Sarbani Ji on Akshaya Tritiya: message No 40112 Thanks to Kid for asking about it. regards Suryaviswanadham vedic astrology, kid kid <astrokkid> wrote: > Hi groupies, > You take any Indian dailies, you could see big "ad's of jewelleries saying it is auspicious to purchase sovereign on "Akshaya Tritiya " day.Kid has never come across any scriptures, suggesting the same.Does any members know, whether there is any reference anywhere either in scriptures or Jyotish text books pertaiining to the same ? > Please reply. > KID
Guest guest
Sarbani is a Lady. coming to your question, I am not aware of Tamil almanac, but surely know that Akshay Tritiya is the days which is celebrated on "Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya" hence it is clear that it can fall only in Vaishakh Month. regards, Utpal balasubramanian_natesan2002 <parvamani (AT) touchtelindia (DOT) net> wrote: Dear Mr Sarbani, I read your article ( post 40112) on Akshay thritiya. Guest guest
Solar Months are determined by the Movement of Sun. The New Year Starts with the Sun Entering the Mesha Rasi, usually around 14 th April. Next month is when Sun enters Vrishabha , usually 30 days later. The Months should be righly called MESHA, VRISHABHA, MITHUN ... MEENA. However, confusion is caused by calling them like Chitrrai( after chitra Nakshatra), Vaishakha , ...Falgun. The Lunar Months are based on the Movement of the Moon. Their length is about 28 ..5 days. Since 12 such months Fall shart of 365.25 days, the Solar Year, every 3 year an addittional month is added. This is called ADHIKA. Which month is Adhika is determined by rules of Panchanga. Such Months are named as CHAITRA,VAISHAKHA,JYSETA,ASHADHA...... The name is after the Moon,s Star on/around Poornima of that Month. The same confusion is in the INDIAN CIVIL CALENDER. BASED ON SUN, NAMED AFTER MOON. tHE sTART OF THE lUNAR mONTH. IN south India, Pratipada after Amavasya. In North Pratipada adter Poornima. You have Panchangs in Gujerath, where New Year Starts after Deepavali. There is the Muslim Calender, based on MOON only, no correction. We have the Parsi New Year and Months. and so on. --- Dhananjayan Brahma <abhanaya wrote: > What are the solar based months and Lunar based > months? > How to sgnify them?
