U mean that for each ascendant there are some benefics and we should strengthen them, irrespective of the placement of these planets? or Benefic/malefic aspect is defined as per asc and the house that planet occupies. By wearing the gem the current dasha is imposed with the planet whose gem is worn. Wearing a gem is like directly bringing the planet in front of you. So, if the planet is debilitated in chart, it's gem is not recommended. There are two things malefic and weak. If planet is weak (but is good for chart) then gemstone is recommended. If planet is malefic for the chart, then gemstone is not recommended. Generally, gem for lagna lord, 5th lord, and 9th lord (lord of trines) are recommended. But what i noticed is that these rules may lead to various sorts of recommendations for the same horoscope. In such cases what should be the best possible choice. For example here are some of the recommendations that some of the astrologers/gurus has recommended me. A few of them can be explained by the explanation that u have given below. 1st rec) Diamond : 9th lord for me 2nd rec) Emerald : Considered good for virgo lagna 3rd rec) Gomed: no idea 4th) Blue saphire:??? 5th) Pearl: ??? 6th) Yellow saphire: looks like to strengthen the Jupiter (in 4th hse sagitarus) My birth details DOB: 7th april 1972 TOB: 6:20 PM POB: Delhi(India) So some of the recommendation looks ok but some other a bit wierd. What is case of venus occupying Capricorn with Rahu and Saturn occupying taurus - can we recommend wearing of a diamond as venus is now closer to Taurus which is the 9th than the 2nd ie Lobra. Also what about Taurus lagna - Do we recommend Emarald for mercury which is aasta ( combust with Sun) and hence weak - as it owns 2nd and the 5th?
