Hello,

I have been watching this thread on and off. I mean I am not going through every

message on the subject.

However, I noticed that it is right time to enter as people who do not have any

K-awakening are commenting on every aspect of it.

First, those who want to know about K-awakening should take trouble of using

Google. The best site whcih covers all issues of K-awakening is

http://www.kundalini-gateway.org/

This site has wealth of information and links to the other sites on the same subject.

In my case ( I am a regular meditator and I love exploring variety of meditation

techniques), the k- awakening happened as a result of practsing Kundalini

meditation I learnt at Osho Commune International. This happend in two months

of practice and the initial symptoms matched almost exactly those documented in

literature - violent body shaking, acidity, loss of weight etc. During this

period when I consulted doctor, I was told that it is activation thyroid and

other glands due to intense meditation and pranayama practises. These symptoms

slowly disappeared when I reduced the intensity of pranayam (specifically

Kumbhak). However, I noticed a major change in my emotional state and that I

became emotionally rock-solid like a zen monk.

There was another major change and that was sudden improvement in my singing. I

am learning Dhrupad of Dagar tradition from Pt. Uday Bhawalkar. Dhrupad singing

demands extra-ordinary breathing capacity for singing alaps in slow tempo.

However, please note that I have not attained any 'siddhis' as of today ( one

commentator of Yoga Sutra has said that they are just carrots for sadhakas to

keep them on the track).

My second experience of K-awakening was recently and of short duration when I

was experimenting with music therapy which is my recent area of interest

off-late.

Hope this helps
