What is meant by 'decanate' and 'centipede' sign?

Hi all,

 

Can anybody explain the meaning of 'decanate' and 'centipede'

sign?

 

Context is the following:

" If Jupiter occupy his own Rashi and decanate, the native will live

for 27 years.

 

If benefics occupy the 5th and 9th houses, and the Ascendant happen to

be a centipede sign with Jupiter in it the person concerned will have a

lease of 80 years of life."

Dear Jyothi

 

Decante is one third of any sign and this division is called as

dreshkona or drekkana in vedic astrology.

Centipede,as the name suggests is the one with centi or onehundred or

shata padaas/feet.Cancer and Scorpio are centipede signs as the said

creatures have many feet.

Jupiter occupying his own rashi and decante means - within a sign he

is falling within divisions ruled by Jupiter or himself.
