It looks like the positional counting of JUP varies from chart to chart (for some charts Lagna and for some MOON) based on the Bhinna Ashtakavarga??????. Last year I was in Rahu/Mars period. In Oct 2004 transit Mars and transit Jupiter were together in 10th house from natal moon. I made very good money for three months. Then I entered Jupiter Mahadasha in Jan 2005, and Jupiter in 10th from natal moon didn't help much. Also when Jupiter became retrograde was bad. It is good for people who have natal jupiter retrograde in their charts. For last 6 months jupiter is transiting Hasta nakshatra which is 22nd nakshatra from natal moon nakshatra. Jupiter will change nakshatra on august 25th 2005, then it will be very good. Jupiter 2nd from natal moon is very good when you are in jupiter mahadasha. You can read chapter from PV Narasimha Rao ji's book on Vedic astrology an integrated approach. He also mentioned in his book that jupiter is good in 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th from natal moon, and not favorable in other houses. Regards G. I was told by some astrologers in india that these planets will show their affect after age 36 as they are in saturn's sign. The astrologers also mentioned that you will have to leave your motherland to be successful. You will only be successful in foreign lands. So I moved to US in 1988. Also almost all my planets are in movable sign, which is called rajju yoga. Mars mahadasha was very good but I was studying in engg college. It gave me degree in mechanical engg, and it was good for my father as mars rules 9th house. But Mars did not give me lot of money as I belonged to middle class family. In my chart the 8th house has 37 points and 9th house has 43 points. 8th house also represents your wife's wealth as it is 2nd house from 7th house. My ex wife was very rich, she was millionaire. 9th house represents luck and fortune, and I have been very lucky in my life. I got what I wanted sometimes after lot of struggle. Also 9th house is 2nd from the 8th house. As 8th house represents lotteries, sudden wealth, so very strong 9th house can give me sudden wealth. That is why many astrologers predicted that I will get sudden wealth through lotteries. Now we will see what happens when transit jupiter will transit my 8th and 9th house from lagna, and I am in jupiter mahadasha. 9th house also represents your guru or boss at work. Astrologers and Singhji In my openion learned astrologers should consider all the aspacts while giving the predictions based on the transits of the jupiter. lets say some one has moon in the 12H in virgo asc. and jupiter is moving in virgo means in the asc. so as per transit rules one should predict that this will be the good period for native because jupiter is 2nd to the moon but based on my experience jupiter in virgo lagna gives bad results. Same way if consider rule jupiter in 10th from moon will give bad results but if someone is having moon in the ascendent and his AL is placed in the 9H and jupiter is transiting 10th to the natal moon will give good results. So I came on the final result that one should predict everything looking at all the factors , I may be wrong in my openion so request learned gurus to put there openion in the forum and give the proper guidence. Jupiter for example transiting 11th house from natal moon couldn't do much if the dasha is a bad one. I have seen when I was in rahu/mars period last year and then jupiter and mars joined each other by transit in virgo in my 10th house from natal moon was excellent time. Jupiter and Ketu are good planets for my chart. So I will see how it is going to play out in my case when jupiter ketu conjunction takes place in the 2nd week of august this year. They say ketu rules scorpio which is my 9th house, so we will see. But my guess is that most of the people going through jupiter mahadasha may have problems because jupiter is with ketu and aspected by rahu, and saturn. My Asc is Sagittarus and so now Jupiter is in 10th rasi from lagna (in my natal chart jupiter is debilitated in Capricorn; it is actually on the cusp of Capri and Aquaris; Jupiter is in the star of Mars which itself is in Aries). For the first time in the last few years, salary hike was very poor (in spite of very good performance; performance was not recognized though). This year, till date, is not one of my best years, professionally (There is one new manager who recognizes my potential though). My moon sign is Leo. They may give you more data to reconcile. You also said that Jupiter in 3rd rasi from Moon sign is not good. Does that mean starting next month I should expect worse results? Then you can use dashas and transits to predict when the results will fruitify. If something is not promised in the chart then even a good transit doesn't help much. Regards G. But Jupiter in 11th never gave any good results to me, may be because Gemini is 8th house from my Lagna. I don't agree. Jupiter provided very good results to me transiting through 5th and 9th houses from Natal Moon, though I was under Mahadasha/antardasha of other planets Dashas. If your logic is correct then even Sade Sati will not be applicable to those who are not in Saturn Dasha?
