Guest guest
Gurujis and All learned members, Regarding aspects(dristi) of different planets, I have a couple of questions: 1> Consider the case of a Libra ascendant. Jupiter being 3rd and 6th lord acts as a functional malefic whereas Saturn being 4th and 5th lord acts as a functional benefic (Raja-Yoga-karaka). Now my question is if Jupiter (functional malefic, but natural benefic) has a full 9th aspect to native's 9th house, would it be considered as a good indication of receiving higher education or would it be sign of hindrances in getting higher education? Same question rises for Saturn (functional benefic, but natural malefic) also. Could anyone please explain whether natural or functional behavior of a planet should be taken into consideration while analyzing the graha-dristis? 2> If Rahu is exalted and/or placed in kendras or trines, does it give aspects as a benefic or does it always give malefic aspects? Please explain. Awaiting for your response! Thanks for your patience, Neo
Guest guest
Dear shri Neo I will share what i have gained from learned members. 1)Functional benefic/malefic specifies the role a planet is supposed to play in the particular chart. Thus it is more to do with lordships than aspects. When we say ''if jupiter aspects 5th'' - it is irrespective of functional nature. Thus aspect has to be looked from the natural angle. 2)I do not know about aspects from nodes.Nodes give results based on association. Guest guest
Namaskaar Sri Neo You have asked very nice questions. Quality of questions speak the quality of mind asking them. Jupiter, will not lose its natural nature by being a functional malefic. Now the question is- what does it do in the chart? Jupiter represents Dharma. It supports value based living. Being the 6th lord, a person will slowly become proud of the values he/she upholds or will start to show that he/she is more religious than others or more learned than others. In other words, Jupiter gains the ill qualities of ego and conflicts coming out of the same by lordship of 6th house. In this turn, he/she may start deciding for others what is dharma and what is not. Or if Mars is involved with Jupiter, then, the same field could be of Management studies. As the 3rd lord and in the 3rd from its house, it becomes a source of courage. Now there is another thing you might have noticed - Jupiter is in 12th house from 6th. Therefore, through this placement, it will also lead to reduction of ego. The more the person studies (higher education and dharmic studies through 5th house), the lesser will be the ego. So what do you deduce: Jupiter will not help the ego to rise if further dharmic and self management studies are done. This person will realize that conflict, unreasonable and loose talk, etc... will lead to only strife. BUT this person will learn the hard way. He/She will go through strife to realize that. Now for Rahu. First understand its nature. Rahu is a point, not a planet. Yet it is graha - a seizer. It is a point where it nullifies the energy of one graha by the other. It is futuristic - it takes the mind to the future. It is expressive. It is enigmatic. It is extremely powerful. In some cases, it causes mass hallucinations. It is my view, that Rahu is the "Dwaarpal" of Maya. It guards the Maya in us. In turn, it keeps the illusion alive. Placed in Kendra/Trikonas exalted or in own house it can give a lot of benefits to the native BUT it tries to keep the native involved in worldly activity by giving worldly pleasures. It is like Yama offering Nachiketa all kinds of enjoyments such that he does not ask for Brahmavidya. Nowadays, there is always more chances that the native will fall for all kinds of enjoyment. Rahu also makes a person revolutionary. He/She can be an inventor if connected with the 5th house. However, if exalted Rahu is connected in any way, with 8th house, it gives immense shakti sadhana. There is a lot you can learn by Rahu, by studying its effects and worshipping Sri Durga. In maya, under Rahu's influence, its nature is never truly understood. The more you break the Maya within, Rahu's nature will come forth. Very interesting topic. Let's see what others have to say.
