Guest guest Posted August 23, 2005 Report Share Posted August 23, 2005 respected gurus, recently i was going through an article on the use of ayanamsa, though mostly not very correct there was one point over which i am doubltfull, it said that ayanamsa is calculated over the tropical zodiac positions, i.e. tropical zodiac figures are the basis of ayanamsa calculation, and as tropical zodiac is relatively a new way knowing the planetary positions with sun as the fixed star co-ordinate hence it is irrelevant as classical texts don't consider sun a fixed. MY QUESTION IS ABOUT THE TRUTH OF THE CALCULATION OF AYANAMSA BEING BASED ON THE TROPICAL ZODIAC OR IF IT IS INFERRED FROM THE CLASSICAL METHOD OF CALCULATION OF PLANETARY POSITION AS MENTIONED IN SURYA SIDDHANTA AND OTHER CLASSICS. kindly clear my doubts.
