Guest guest
Dear Respected members After talking about Lord SHIVA in terms of Samhara,i tried to understand the relevance of Lord w.r to YOGA/TANTRA.I will share my visualisation in own words.YOGA means union and YOGA shakthi is the shakthi attained, because of Union. Purusha is Male and Prakrithi, Female.Linga is the symbol of Male and Yoni that of Female.Purusha and Prakrithi Samyojanam or Union,is the Confluence of SHIVA and PARVATI.Does the Jala tattwa of Scorpio and Agni Tattwa of Dhanu has some relation with the above, two?. In the Keertana,Vatapi Ganapatim ,one could find ..''Mooladhara Kshethra sthitham''.Ganapati, the Son of Shiva and Parvati is thus situated in Mooladhara. All these definitely invite my attention towards the link between - LINGA (Phallus),Mooladhara,SHIVa,KUNDALINI,MOOLAM(Samhaara Moorthi) etc. Thus i feel shri Haris YOGIC/TANTRIC studies and Papers are not any wild imaginations or fantasies. NOW if we look at the LINGA,worshiped in any temple - What is the Shape? Narasimha ji has mentioned in one mail - ''Thinking in such crude lines...'' What is crude and Why to fear.LINGA is confidence and Power.Realization of this tremendous Power, can only, help one in making use of the surrounding shakthi and its guidance. We may read/write/approach LINGA without fear.False understanding makes us hesitant. There is no vulgarity with LINGA .Vulagarity is a perceptive quality, and therefore purely subjective. There is nothing in this universe which is seperate or isolated.Everything has a connection with the WHOLE.I remember Lakshmi ji mentioning about the continuous Push and Pull between Shiva and Parvati and the universe as a WHOLE.We know the universe is within us.Shri Hari has explained the link between YOGA shareera and Kaalapurusha. Our attempts to shift molladhara chakra a few centimeters,is definitley due to some misconceptions about LINGA. If we can think about the links between Kaalam/Sarpam/Shivam/Lingam etc - there is no room for any doubt. Pradeep
Guest guest
Dear Pradeep and all , There are many contradictions if you take the Linga to mean phallus . First it is inverted position . Secondly we keep doing abhishek on it from outside which does not make sense .. Third Lord Shiva is meant for samhara ( destruction ) , and yoni and phallus union would designate utpatti ( progeny ) clearly Lord Brahma's arena . Now look at this possibility . If you take the vertical portion of the Linga to mean the hot column of Lava coming out of a volcano a lot of things given above begin to make sense . Remember Lord Shiva in Shiva Purana emerged as effulgent column of light the beginning or the end of it not possible to be known . At the top of the colunm of the Lava is the smoke . The lava gets cooled by water or the offerrings . The Lava destructs everything in its path . Lastly Trayambak is also a name of Agni - the one born of three mothers . And the Nataraja in one hand holds a Damru - vibrations leading to destruction of the universe and in the other has Jwala for complete anihilation . The horizontal portion of the Lings is the solidifying lava which is semi fluid. May be this is the reason we do not cross this part of the Linga when we do pradakshina ! Regards , Anand A. K.
