I agree, with one reservation. In my experience, rare conditional dasas such as Dwisaptati sama dasa, Chaturaseeti sama dasa, Sataabdika dasa etc work way better than Vimsottari when applicable. But I have not found the same to be true with not-so-rare conditional dasas. For example, Shodasottari dasa is applicable in 50% horoscopes. It will be a stretch to say that it takes precedence over Vimsottari dasa in half the charts. I found charts where Shodasottari dasa is applicable and works way better than Vimsottari dasa. I have also found charts where Shodasottari dasa is technically applicable and yet Vimsottari dasa works better. I am confident that there are still some missing links in our understanding of some conditional dasas. It is funny how things that should be crystal clear and obvious to the common sense are obscured from our thinking until the right time comes, when an important insight comes and one wonders why one never thought of such an obvious thing! We still need to discover a few missing links. > Hence it is possible that Mer-Ven is > the clear explanation than Mo-Mo. But it is after the fact and only > an academic excercise now.
