The biggest challenge in Jyotish is make judgment about the behavior of a planet. Whether a planet will give good or bad results during its dasha or bhukti, and when these good or bad results will fructify for the native. I have seen sometimes very experienced astrologers make mistake in this judgement. In 1997 I discussed my astrology chart with two very famous astrologers in US, I do not want to mention their names. They both are very expensive and they have written many astrology books. One astrologer said that 1997 would be the best year of my life. The second astrologer said that 1997 would be the worst year of my life. So we all know one is right and the other one is wrong. After I had gone through 1997 I did my own analysis to understand why their predictions were so different. What went wrong? That is how your learn astrology from other people's mistakes. I do not have an answer to your question. If I answer your question then you will only apply just one technique to make predictions and the predictions will be wrong. In astrology you have to apply many different techniques at same time to come up with a prediction. Sometimes the techniques contradict each other. Then it all depends on the astrologer which way they want to lean. Most of the time an astrology student has one guru. I do not have any guru. I studied astrology with 20 different astrologers, and learnt their techniques. Every astrologer is different, and knows some good stuff. I spent lot of money, used to do my own chart readings with very famous astrologers. They will record my reading, and send me those tapes. During my reading I will ask astrology questions, and tried to learn their process and techniques, how they came up with predictions. After spending 5, 6 months with one astrologer, I will learn everything that astrologer has to offer. Then I will move on to the next astrologer. Regards G.
