Kendradipathya dosha clarification

Dear Mr.Bala,

 

Kendradipathya dosha does not come into force for dual

signs because, for dual signs (Gemini, virgo,

SAgittarius, and Pisces), the lagna lord itself is the

yogakaraka. So, obviously for Gemini ascendant, the

yogakaraka is Mercury itself!

 

In the definition of Kendrapathya, clearly the 1st

house if left out. Only if a natural benefic owns the

other kendras viz. 4, 7, and 10th house, it leads to

kendrapathya dosha. For the purpose of calculating

benefics of an ascendant, the 1st house lord is

considered to be a benefic only and not otherwise.

 

So, if we combine the effects of Mercury becoming a

benefic as it is the lagna lord, and it becomes

afflicted as it becomes the 4th lord and hence

subjected to kendrapathya dosha, we may at worst

consider Mercury to be a neutral for Gemini ascendant

and certainly not a malefic! The lagna lord is never

considered to be malefic for any ascendant! Ofcourse,

the placement of the lagna lord and its essential

dignities like debilitation, exaltation, or combustion

need to be taken note of before finally deciding

whether a planet is benefic/malefic in its disposition

in a horoscope. This point apart, it must be said

that according to the classics, Venus is the only pure

benefic planet for GEmini ascendant (though it owns

the malefic 12th house also!). Astrology is an ocean

with so many points requiring our careful attention!

We can never apply any rule out of context.

 

Other astro-experts may also consider this view and

share their thoughts in this forum for the benefit of

clarification.

 

 

Of course, such a malefic in retro will have his/her

maleficiance

mellowed. similiarly, such a malefic posited in a

quadrant also

becomes benefic.

every problem
