The 3129 BCJ eclipse pair has some significance in the sense of traditionally

accepted date of Mahabharata is some 20-30 years before Kaliyuga start of 3102

BC. This pair would occur 27 years before Sri Krishna’s demise and would appear

to be chronologically right.

Dear Bharat,

In the Surya Siddhanta notes, it dates the start of Kali Yuga as 17th Feb

3102 BC. The war lasted for 18 days which constitutes the 18 chapters of the

Bhagavat Gita. Where can I find the 35 year info from? Thanks so much.

It was nice to meet with you all in Delhi.

Namaskaar Sri Swee

Krishna has been said to have given up his sharira in the year 3102 BC (the

advent of Kali Yuga). This year is taken by most panchangas as the start of

the Kali Yuga. It is said that Mahabharata War was fought 35 years prior to

his giving up of his body. This puts the date at 3137 BC.

Please check if the said eclipses occured in that year.

Thanks and Regards

Bharat

Dear Swee,

The 28 Nakshatra scheam was used when the geocentric path of moon was

used for the nakshatra divisions. Originally such divisions were

counted from Abhijith Nakshatra (Since if only you count nakshatras

from Abhijith, all Yoga Tharas will fall with in their respective

divisions). But later this system become corrected and to correct the

zodiac division system based on systematic mathametical foundation,

division geocentric path of sun in to 27 equal parts (13 degree 20 min

each) was introduced. Abhijith was very far away from this path, and

there for left out from the scheam. Thus came into existance the 27

Nakshatra scheam of equal division.

Hope this helps,

Love,

Sreenadh

Jaya Jagannatha

Dear Sreenadh,

Namaste

What you are suggesting here is that during Dvapara, the 28 nakshatras were

used in the scheme of things and that during the current age of Kali Yuga we

are to abandon it? So if we starting the zodiac from 0 deg Mesha, when do we

place the Vrishabha Age?

Swee
