Dear Sreenadh,

What you are saying is incorrect. There is always a 27 Nakshatra scheme and

another 28 Nakshatra way to divide zodiac. They are used for different

interpretations.

Computationally Abhijit Nakshatra is 1 Pada and 1/15 of a nakshatra.

 

The moon takes 27.32166 days to go around the zodiac (This has not changed

since mahabharata)

 

 

1 Nakshatra = 13:20 deg:mins = 13.33deg

 

The extra whole days is 27.32 - 27 = 0.32

 

0.32166 * 13.3333 = 4.2888deg = 3:20(1pada) + 0.93

0.9 = 55Mins which is appx 1/15 of nakshatra

 

Always there is some fractional extra which is given to Hari (Abhijit).

 

Now the interpretations between 27 and 28 is upto your learnings.
