Guest guest
Shreeyukta Rath, I read your advice and felt research findings under SJC aupices would help clear the doubts that beset not just this remediation side of astrology but many other core tenets in its contemporary methodology. Augmenting the satva guna via the 9th lord may not be practicable in all cases, not so perhaps in most cases. Could you pls help out with this one: What if the 9th lord is also the 8th lord as with Mithuna lagna? The 9th lordship basis, I think, of Anukula school, peters out in praxix. Take Saturn for the said lagna. What if he has no direct bearing on the 9th hse except its lordship, by way neither of tenancy therin nor of aspect theron. Late Baikoli Mahapatra in one of his acclaimed compendia says where such a planet has direct bearing on the other unfavourable hse, he will lose its shuvatva. Where do we then go from here, sir? Richard in a later posting neither says: "A planet which is good for the chart either naturally or by house ruler ship yet somewhat weakened by placement may be strengthened through the gem, or a planet which already is strong and giving benefic influence may be further strengthened for gains in particular areas of life by wearing the gem." For one, here the placement has not been factored in. Planet that is 'good' functionally or naturally and having generally benefic effect A) may not be very well-placed house-wise, B) may take away from the goodness of another hse if it is strengthened, well what Richard version of the Anukula school says is made extra-strong. I know of at least one school, Western India if I remember aright, which says for eg that a planet in the 4th hse will hold down the 10th hse. Consider the conundrum of the lagna lord, without any second contra-lordship, say Merc for Mithuna in Virgo beyond parmochch (15 degree) thus, according to Anukoola school, can be further strengthened. We know, eg, in Ayurdaya that the 8th lord should not be stronger than than the 1st lord for super longevity. And then there is 6, 8, or 12th placement of a planet with regard to another very significant planet or w.r.t. a sensitive hse. Now supposing for the said lagna, Sat is in 8th and Merc in 4th. The 9th lord can't handed more power. What we are left with is the Lagna lord, a soumya. Can we strengthen this 1st lord, because he is more of a 4th lord in 4th thus averse ( even adverse in W Indian school) to the zenith. Jupiter's lordships are a strict no-no. The posers at the plane of praxix do not end here. Say, for the same lagna Ju is in 9th. Who would you rather gemeologically vote for? Sir, your guidence sought if we can really translate the Anukoola school to practice. The placement of the three planets is an actual horoscope. I'd be glad to provide the complete horoscope if you want it as a test case.
