between rubies and spinels. Many of the finest Spinels were considered

Rubies, till their differences were found out. I was trying to bring that to

notice but suggested as if all rubies are spinels.

I am already doing the same for Navagrahas stones and will post the same. I

do not know how much of it will be of help practically, as some require

different apparatus and instruments. I guess, it would be nice to be

informed of such a subject.

All you have to do is look and feel the "gem" to separate synthetics from

natural ones, that part is relatively easy with experience.

 

The problem comes with the new enhancement processes ( for real gems) of

diffusion,filing etc...but then that's why we have the labs for- to certify.

 

waiting for Bharat Bhayias post none the less.
