Clarification on Bhava/Hora.. lagna definition

Hello all,

 

I was reading this book "Vedic Astrology - An Integrated Approach" by

PVR Narasimha Rao, and when defining Bhava, Hora and Ghati lagnas

(p38), the book says the following for all three lagna definitions:

 

xxxx lagna is at the position of Sun at the time of sunrise.

 

where xxxx is one of Bhava/Hora/Ghati.

 

Since all three lagna definitions have same definition, I'm confused as

to what is the difference between each of them.

 

Could someone clarify please?

 

Also, PVR, it would be nice to have an index at the end of book.
